CHAPTER EIGHT

Third persons POV

Emily sat down on her bed having a phone call with Jayden.

"Yeah, I'm okay." She replied as the door opened and Xander came inside.

"I love you too." She said after telling him that she couldn't wait for his arrival.

"Okay, bye." She said before ending the call.

"How are you feeling now?" Xander asked her as he came to stand in front of where she was sitting but she didn't reply him,instead, she continued pressing her phone.

"Everything is going to be okay." He said as he sat down beside her on the bed and held her hand in his but she calmly removed her hand from his.

"What's going on?" He asked her obviously confused by her change of mood and strange attitude.

"Nothing." She replied with an unreadable expression.

"Emily please look at me and tell me what's going on. I don't like seeing you this way.

You are so cold towards me." He said as he lightly touched her shoulder.

"Did anything happen when I went with Austin?" He asked again and when he saw that she still wouldn't reply, he stood up and went to kneel down in front of her.

"Stop it,please stand up." She finally spoke.

"Well, at least that drew your attention and you have finally said something to me." He said grinning before he stood up and went back to sit beside her on the bed.

"Oh, so you actually did that to get my attention?" She asked and he replied by nodding positively like a child.

"So, is there anything you actually want to say? Because you don't seem to be leaving here anytime soon." She asked him.

"Yeah but I need you to calm down first." He replied.

"Alright, I'm calm now so what do you want?" She asked him.

"I don't want anything or anyone other than you Emily.

Please, I just really want you." He said looking directly at her face and he could notice the change in her posture and the way her tiny eyebrows went up showing she wasn't expecting this conversation to go this way.

He kept wondering why she was so surprised to hear that confession.

Besides, he has told her about the way he feels before or does it mean she never believed him?

Isn't it clear that he has fallen deeply in Love with her?

"Infatuation." His subconscious added.

"Can we please talk about something else? I really can't do this right now." She replied with a frown.

"Well too bad because this is actually what I want to talk about,Us." He replied with a saddened expression.

"There is no us Xander." She said as her eyes met his in a deep stare but he was the first to break the contact.

"I beg you, don't do that next time please." He warned as he exhaled.

"Do what?" She asked him.

"Even the way you just stare at me makes me want you more and more." Xander replied as he stood up and went to rest his back on the wall.

As Xander was talking to Emily, his phone rang but he ignored it.

"I think you need to take that call." She said as the call came in a second time.

"No, I think I need to take you." He replied with a lazy grin as her cheeks grew red.

"I really think we should stop talking about stuffs like this though.

It's making me feel guilty and uncomfortable."she said as she stood up to leave the room.

"Please don't leave this place because of me." He pleaded.

"As a matter of fact, I don't even know if your feeling towards me is true because you are a known player and I don't see what makes my situation any different from that of the other girls." She concluded before making a move to leave the room.

"Emily if you walk out on me, I don't think we are ever going to be friends again." Xander said trying his luck but it sounded more like pride to Emily.

"Friends hun? Alright then, I will leave." She replied with a raised brow before leaving the room to Xander and his thoughts.

"What the fuck is wrong with me, why did I have to open my mouth and say that right now?" Xander asked himself as he punched the wall and walked out of the room angrily.

"Whoa! Where are you off to looking so furious?" Austin asked Emily blocking her way.

"What now Austin? I don't see any reason why you should be in my face after the rubbish you pulled off earlier,so please just let me be."she said in a harsh tone.

"Oops, sorry. I didn't know you were in a bad mood,do you want to talk about it?" Austin asked her and for a second he sounded different from the manipulative Austin that spoke to her earlier today. The same Austin that threatened her with a video.

"I don't want to talk about it with you because you happen to be the mastermind of the reason why I'm this furious." She replied as she walked out and he stepped out of her way.

"Well, whatever but if you need a shoulder to cry on mine is always available." He shouted after her and she might or might not have heard him.

As Xander came out, he saw Emily going towards the home gym.

"What were you saying to her just now?" He asked Austin.

"Nothing that concerns you.

Besides, why are you coming out of her room?"Austin replied with a question of his own.

"I'm very sure you were the one that made her angry and now she won't even say anything to me." Austin complained with a frown.

"When has she ever said anything to you, willingly?" Xander asked mocking Austin.

"I don't see how that is any of your business."Austin said and he started going out of the place.

"Where are you going to?" Xander asked him.

"Well, anywhere that wants me." Austin replied with a shrug as he continued walking.

"You know we can still hangout sometimes,right? Besides, I haven't disowned you as my best friend yet." Xander said but Austin didn't give him any response,he just walked out.

Xander headed to the gym room and as he got there, he peeped inside then he saw Emily siting on the tiled floor.

He sneaked in and covered her eyes with his palms.

She didn't even move because it was obviously Xander.

No one can miss his unique scent.

When he saw she wasn't in the mood, he removed his hands from her eyes and sat down beside her.

"I'm sorry Emily." He said but she didn't respond so, he poked her by the side of her rib.

"Stop it."she said hiting his hand away.

"I'm so sorry for being an ass earlier. I don't even know why I said that.

Please forgive me." He pleaded as he gave a puppy like look.

"Please?" He said again as she turned to face him trying to hold in her laughter.

"Well,what should I do? I think I already found a new friend to replace you."she said with a raised eye brow and a shrug.

"But, I guess I still have a space for another." She said as she finally smiled and that brought joy to Xanders system.

"Thank you for giving me another chance." Xander shouted as he hugged her in a tight embrace.

"I feel like I died." Emily said as she tapped Xander to release his tight hold on her.

"Well, I knew you didn't mean it so I didn't really take it to heart. I was just waiting for you to come back to your senses but you have to promise that you will never do that again." She said playing with a rope on her cloth.

"I promise I won't." He said as he took her hands and pecked her inner wrists.

"Stop it." She said as the both of them started laughing then they stood up.

"So, do you like music?" He asked.

"Who doesn't?" She replied with an eye roll.

"So, any favorite?" He asked again as they both left the gym.

"I love Doja cat. I feel her lyrics in my guts whenever I listen to her song." Emily replied.

"what about you?" She asked.

"I love music too but I like one direction. You know, Harry Styles, Zyan Malik and the rest.

I can also do with Drake and Justin Beiber but when it comes to the females, Nikki Minaj and Rihanna are fine for me." He replied with a grin.

"You sure do have a lot of favourites." She said laughing.

"I love watching movies too.

But I prefer a good series, it's longer." She said laughing.

"I like Terrence Jenkins in The perfect match." Emily said blushing.

"Cassie Ventura is hot too and she is also a musician.

But she is not as hot as you are." Xander said with a smirk before he looked at her face waiting to see her reaction but she was all smiles.

"You sure love to flirt." Emily said as she tried to fight the smile.

As they got to the living room, everyone was gathered there and it was kinda awkward as they entered together but Emily felt her phone vibrate before she could even sit down so she excused herself and went outside the living room to get the call.

"Hey baby," Jayden said from the other side of the phone.

"Hey sweetheart, everything okay?" Emily replied.

"Yeah,there is good news though." Jayden replied and she could tell he was smiling from where he was because of the tone of his voice.

"So, do share your good news then and stop making me wait." Emily said laughing.

"Alright, alright my flight has been shifted."

"Forward or backward." She asked even though she already knows the answer.

"Backward and I'm coming back tomorrow." He said chuckling.

"I'm so happy baby, I have missed you so much." She shouted in reply.

"Same here love."Jayden replied as she felt eyes on her and it turned out to be Xander.

"Who is that?" Xander asked her in a low tone but that didn't prevent Jayden from hearing his question.

"You okay Emily, who is there with you?" Jayden asked.

"It's no one, just a random guy around here." Emily replied and the statement actually hurt Xander.

Random, she said.

"Alright then, I can't wait to come back to you baby."Jayden said.

"Me too, I can't wait for you to get back." Emily replied.

"I love you baby."

"I love you too."Emily said before Jayden ended the call.

"Is there any problem or something I can help you with?" Emily asked Xander wondering why he was out there with her.

"Not really, I just wanted to see if you were okay because you just left." Xander replied with a pained expression.

"Alright, then." Emily said as she went back into the living room.
