Easy Choice

The human mind was really something else. When it came to decisions that were easy, Derek would sometimes find himself agonizing over which choice to make. Things like buying himself a car as a treat. 

He would often spend days trying to figure out exactly what colour he wanted, only to give in and buy the car in two different shades. But when it came to what should have been the most difficult decision in the world to make. A split second was all that it had taken for himto pick. 

In what had felt like no time at all, Derek had looked at the ways to die placed before him, and he had decided that jumping was their best bet. If he'd stayed on the bridge and had tried to fight, then he'd run the chance of getting shot at close range.
