Hard to Survive

The hooded man stared at me until he was called by his comrades , like him his comrades too wore black robe to hide their identity. But the one who targeted me seemed different , difference between him and his comrades was unexplainable but I just had this feeling that he was a bad news.

After they left I sat on the dusty chair near me and recollected my thoughts about this situation. Although it didn't hit me before when I realized this felt unreal.

'How the hell am I alive? What is this system?'

I calmed myself down and decided to keep those questions with no answers aside.

'Even if I used all of my brain cells these questions will still remain unanswered. Let's analyse this village's situation.'

I looked around and there was nothing but houses and few farms in the outskirts of this village. It was safe to assume that this village was a poor village , the half destroyed houses were still on there place and weren't taken down.

The houses were just made up of bricks stacked on each other and were stuck together with some kind of sticky substance. The people I saw in window were also looking a bit tired.

'The farms I saw didn't look good too , are they tired because of the shortage of food?'

Just as I was thinking that a man cam flying towards the house I was staying in and slammed in the wall. The impact was so hard that the wall broke and he passed through my house slamming into another house behind mine. I ran to see what happened and was surprised by his reaction.

"It's hard enough to live in this world and you're making it harder for everyone to survive."

He got up and removed his hood , scratching his head that man launched himself in the air with just the help of his legs. I looked at him through the hole and saw him fighting against something in the air.

'What is that? The moonlight is too bright , I can't get a look at who he's fighting.'

I couldn't get look at both of their faces , they exchanged strikes mid-air while the other black hoods also fought against those 'things'. From the shape of it , it looked like a monster or animal to me.

It's body was covered with fur , I could say that because I saw many hairs coming out from it's back. In the end monster won the mid-air and the man he fought against fell down again but this time not slamming into anyone house.

I saw the powerful punches and kicks they exchanged and was horrified , of course they were nothing compared to Fenery. Against me Fenery didn't even use 5% of his full power , but their fight was enough to scare me.

The man again stood and looked at the monster who was flying in the air , he took out something out of his pocket and was chanting something. I was far from him which is why I couldn't hear what he was saying.

'What is he saying?'

After few seconds he stopped and held the item he took out of his pocket aiming for the monster.

'That looks like a... a ring?'

I couldn't see clearly but the way he held it and the way it was shining to me it looked like a ring. The ring which was reflecting the moonlight now started glowing and emitted gold colour.

The glowing stopped , nobody spoke a word. The villagers who watched this madness were quite , his comrades who were fighting stopped fighting and looked at him who stood before the big furry monster.

He wore the ring and then joined his hands together as if praying to God , the light which covered the ring before now covered that man. It was quite a cloudy night but when he prayed rays of light came down blowing the clouds away. The sky was lit by the golden light , it was as if night was turned into day.

"Damn , I've to survive throught this? Sh*t don't fall on this house."

Luckily the rays weren't meant to kill me or the villagers , the rays only fell on those monsters and completely erased their existence. Seeing the golden ray of light all the black hoods got on their knees and joined their hands to pray to the light , I could also see some of the villagers on their knees too.

'Is he an important person? Why are praying to that light?'

Suddenly a hand pressed me down on my knees.

"Hey who is it-"

When I turned around it was none other than one of the black hoods , didn't say anything and kneeled like me. I looked at the man who stood while all of us were kneeling , he was definitely using mana.

Even though it was different world mana was present everywhere , not only that the mana present here was so more than adequate. The overflowing mana was being wasted as I felt none of the black hoods using it , the only one able to use mana was the person standing.

'Are these guys dumb? Why aren't they learning from him? He should be able to teach them how to use mana.'

The rays finally stopped leaving behind many holes in the clouds , the man finally moved and walked in my direction. Out of nowhere few men appeared behind me and seized me , the man who was using some mana attacks before walked up to me and said ,

"꓄ꍟ꒒꒒ ꎭꍟ ꅏꃅꂦ ꍏꋪꍟ ꌩꂦꀎ?"

'Huh? What is he saying? Don't tell me , are all of them dumb that they can't even speak?'

"Spark"

Before he could say anything I used 'Spark to free myself from the black hoods hands and appeared behind the man. I tapped on his shoulder to call him and just as he turned his eyes widened , he was surprised that I could move at that speed.

'Isn't it normal move at this speed? They don't know much about mana I guess.'

When I looked closely at him , his golden eyes shone in my face.

'Argh , too much brightness in my dark life stop it. Wait doesn't he look like the man I faced , his golden eyes are same as him.'

"ꌩꂦꀎ ꀤꈤꌗꂦ꒒ꍟꈤ꓄ ꌃꍟꀤꈤꁅ"

This time instead of ignoring I used hand sign to communicate. Moving my hands I said ,

"I can't understand you?"

That's when a message appeared , it was none other than the 'mysterious system'.

「 Detected Elf Tongue 」

「 Learning Elf Language and 13 other 」

「 ... 」

「 Congratulations you've learnt 14 new languages 」

'Oh so he wasn't talking some random sh*t , it was a language barrier. What a good system always helping me , I wish I could pet it.'

After learning Elf language without doing anything I was finally ready to converse with the man with golden eyes.

"Umm I didn't understand what you said before could you please repeat?"

After hearing my words he looked pissed for some reason.

"You insolent being , who do you think you're giving orders to?"

The one who spoke was one of the black hoods who was standing besides the golden eyes.

"Master I say we ki-"

He raised his hand stopped his comrades from saying anything any further.

"It's okay , let me repeat what he didn't hear."

"But still master , we should punish this b*stard."

"Didn't you hear what I said?"

"Y-Yes."

'Looks like he's some kind of big shot here , I better apologize and show my kindness. Kind Zafrix Mode - On'

"I'm sorry , I couldn't hear what you said properly. Also did we fight earlier? I'm extremely sorry if you felt humiliated."

'Sh*t it came out wrong out of my mouth , I didn't mean to sound like that.'

"You-"

"It's okay , I get what he wanted to say."

'Hah , thank god he understood.'

"What I asked before was that what is a half naked bug in the form of Elf doing here?"

"Oh I was just passing through-"

'Huh!? Half-naked bug in the form of Elf?'
