☆"Sophie's P.O.V"☆

I walked out of the bar quickly, with the gang trailing right behind me. I had this funky looking amulet in my hand that I yanked off the punk ass kid awhile back and was hoping Ophelia would be able to locate the owner of this amulet to see if it had any connections to this mystery demon of ours. I stop in my tracks and concentrate on calling Ophelia to me. Just then there was a brief flash of bright light and then standing there was Ophelia.

             "You called?"

I handed her the amulet, "Think you can trace it back to the source?"

"Of course I can." She responds happily, "Would you like me to teleport everyone to that location now?"

I nodded my head and next thing I knew we were being teleported to a place that was dimly lit, filled with books, and priceless artifacts filled every corner. As I took in my surroundings, my eyes widened as I realized where I was.

"Sophia, what a pleasant surprise." I whirl around to see a young man walking down the hall towards us.

As the young man approached, it was obvious that he was handsome but as always looks can be deceiving.

"Sophia, are you well?" He was so close now he was about to touch my cheek with his pale hand, "You look pale."

I smacked his hand away, "Look who's talking about being pale you BLOOD SUCKING TICK!"

"Well there is no need for name calling." He said looking a bit wounded, and then looked over my shoulder, "You brought lunch?"

"No, Nick. These guys are my teammates. Guys meet Nick."

"Pleasures all mine." He says as he does a little bow and bares his fangs.

"Holy crap, this dude's a vampire!!" Came the ever so subtle statement from a very disturbed Werelion.

I roll my eyes at the newbie, "Yes Danny, he is a vampire… shezz."

"Haven't you seen a vampire before puffball?" Nick taunted.

"Can someone tell me exactly why we are talking to this bloodsucker and not slaying it?" Growled Danny.

"As much as it pains me to admit it, old Nicolai here was the last to have the amulet so he might be of some use to us." I turn to Nick, "As long as he cooperates well."

He does his little bow again and says, "Nicolai Chase at your service Madame."

"Good." I held up the amulet for him to see, "Then start by explaining why this amulet led us here all the way from the good old Louisiana swamps."

He eyed the insignia on it for a moment then said, "No wonder it took you here. That amulet was a part of a rather larger collection I have, and this particular one was one that was stolen only five days ago."

"Five days ago?" Alex asked with an arched brow, "Anything unusual about this amulet that we should know about?"

Nicolai shook his head slightly, "Not anything important, or life threatening."

I glare at him and he flinches slightly, "Tell me Nick… NOW!"

"Alright, alright, it gives the wearer the ability to see past the mind's fog." He says hurriedly, holding his hands up in defense.

My eyes widened, "Not important?!? You. Blood. Sucking. Moron!"

[How could a guy who has lived so long be so stupid?] I thought to myself.

"Umm… I don't mean to be a bother but is that bad?" Asked Izzy, who as of right then I just wanted to strangle.

"Imagine your life as a little island surrounded by mist." I start to explain, "Put that amulet on, the mist goes away and other islands filled with monsters and demons are all around you." Izzy eyes start to widen, "And now you know that it is definitely BAD!"

"It's not all that bad." Nicolai countered, "It helps a great deal with getting over hangovers and helps make great business decisions."

[Seriously,  hangovers and business choices? These are the best traits for this thing? Oh, brother.] I thought. "

"Figures a bloodsucker like you would never see danger when there is a profit to be earned." Danny growled at Nick, "Vampires are heartless creatures."

"Actually, I do still have a heart. Not a beating one, but still it's there." He says nonchalantly, "Oh and your tail is showing."

Everyone looks at Danny to see his lion tail swishing behind him angrily. Danny just glared at Nick.

"Fang Face." Danny growled deeply.

"Fuzz ball." Nick simply said with a slight grin on his face.

"ENOUGH!" I shouted at the two.

"Big brother, are you in here?" Everyone turned around to see a young girl, maybe around 22, long pitch black hair, pale skin, ice blue eyes, and a thin figure, walk into the room.

"I'm over here Danielle." Nicolai said, ushering her over to him, "Danielle, you remember Sophia, right?"

It took a moment to remember that this was Nicolai's little sister. The resemblance was remarkable. They had the same hair color, eye color, even skin tone and fabulous bone structure.

"Course I remember Sophia." She said cheerfully as she shook my hand, "It's so good to see you again, dear."

"Yea, whatever." I said, trying to sound casual.

I was more focused on the task at hand than idle chitter chatter, "Listen, I need you guys to tell me what you've heard about a certain power hungry demon."

"Sophia, there are many power hungry demons out there." Nicolai chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head.

"How about one that's after the Leviathan."
