Beast Butchering

The next decade or so went by smoothly as I began to hunt the beasts that are left after I slayed the Titanic Cyclops.

First, I hunted that five-headed hydra as it was time I finally killed that damnable beast that kept regrowing its heads. I found it in its usual lair deep inside a certain abyssal region of the realm.

We fought for days on end, I kept destroying it, but of course, it kept regrowing its heads as its regeneration was insane. But I did not relent, as I could feel my spear technique improving quickly as the battle raged on. The hydra spewing different elemental breaths from each head as it stomped across the abyss, bringing with it apocalyptic earthquakes.

I used my speed to keep out of the way of its dangerous breath attacks while constantly peltering the beast with my own attacks, destroying multiple heads at once.

Eventually, I got the right angle, with enough force to shatter all of its head, simultaneously sending blood and brain matter scattering across the abyss as its overly large lower body fell to the ground, lifeless.

The beast was weaker than the titanic cyclops but harder to kill due to its regeneration. Though I will say that its meat is also tastier, probably the most delicious meal I have had to date.

"Mhmhm!" I couldn't help but exclaim in satisfaction after finishing off the last bit of Hydra meat.

The next monstrous beast for me to face ended up being the Deviate, as it came looking for me. In fact, it was probably drawn over by the smell of the hydra meat, but either way, it was trying to take what was mine, so why not kill it now instead of later.

And so began the next grand battle, which to me, ended up being the toughest so far. Even worse than the titanic cyclops, mainly due to how fucking annoying the bird was to fight. Not only is it fast as hell in the sky, but it is nearly impossible to hit.

It keeps sending its adamantium-like feather shooting towards me to try and kill me, or using wind magic, kill me by starting tornadoes or tossing me in the air with the wind.

And yet, I have not been able to land a single hit on the bird as it keeps dodging my attacks easily. It is exasperating to fight this monster that can fly. Our battle is not even being done in the abyssal region anymore as the fight ended up dragging on over towards the mountains.

Well, what was left of the mountains, as our battle practically destroyed the entire region. I spent nearly an entire month fighting this beast before I was able to injure it. I had to get faster, faster moving, and faster at thrusting with my spear. Faster than this bird could ever go.

And eventually, I got there. So fast that the bird never even saw it coming before it lost its left-wing, completely obliterated leaving nothing but a stump. This, of course, caused the Deviate to spiral out of the air in a panic as it screeched loudly.

The bird crashed into a nearby mountainside, causing it to collapse in on itself. I quickly jumped and ran over, my spear still in hand, ready to finish the bird off.

Once it climbed out of the hole in the mountain, it tried to take off with its one good wing but was unable to lift its large body. I rapidly approach, my spear already reared back, poised to strike.

As the Deviate struggles to move around and adapt to its new situation, I thrust my spear forward just as I move fast enough that it looked like I teleported right into its face, and then its entire upper body evaporates into nothing as my spear makes contact. The rest of the body falls limp, with a few twitches here and there as if still trying to fly.

That was the third monster I had defeated, and now only three more to go.

The next monster to face against was the one that I was dreading fighting the most, the Fire Elemental King. It seems nearly impossible to fight, let alone beat, as it is completely made up of fire and magma and lives within a volcano. But it is the closest, and actually the only one I know the current location of.

The Gillip is constantly roaming the seas, so it could be anywhere. And the last one, the Macarat, well, I never met it, so I have no idea where it is.

So that leaves just the Fire Elemental King. And as I drop into the open scorching volcano, and thankfully to my enhanced body, the fire now does little damage to me other than being hot and uncomfortable.

But immediately, the Fire Elemental King rises from the magma, appearing in full glory. His thirty-foot-sized body of fire and magma that just drips off of him as he wears the horned crown of magma atop his head.

The monster begins to sling fire and magma at me with his arms as he moves like a windmill, rapidly firing everything that he's got. I take to dodging while sending forth attacks of pure force, trying to shatter the hard magma-like body that holds him together.

Like before, this fight is going nowhere, as I am yet to damage his body whatsoever. We have been fighting for nearly three days, and nothing has happened; he can't hit me as I am now too fast, but no matter what I do, his body just reforms as fire and magma.

Now I need to think, think of a way to kill him once and for all. But this is the only monster I have faced like this in this realm, one that is purely elemental in nature. I don't know how to use magic myself, and physical attacks are all that I can do. So how can I kill it?

Maybe he has a core somewhere, and as long as I destroy that, he can no longer form his body. That is my best bet, so I must continue to fight until I can find this core if he has one, or at least find a weakness.
