Preliminaries

Since they never met, Fei Lei was unclear to as why she knew his appearance, and Fei Lei couldn't help but have this nagging feeling as if he had seen her somewhere before.

"How did you know I was here? Or better yet, how did you know what I looked like?" Fei Lei asked.

"I saw the clear Mana coming from the testing grounds and thought that it had to be you. Only Master Tetra and his newest pupil could have such frightening Non-Elemental Mana," Hina said smiling at Fei Lei with a gentle expression.

"Okay, but why are you here?" Fei Lei asked.

Hina laughed a little before she said, "I also came over to see what the fuss was about, Teacher said you are one of his most promising pupils yet, and I wanted to meet you. Gotta say though, n~i~c~e."

Fei Lei scratched his head, "Um...Thanks for the compliment. How is Teacher these days?"

Hina laughed, "He's been drinking a lot, and every time he gets drunk he brags about you. Says that the rest of us don't even half the drive you do." she ended the sentence placing her finger on his chest.

Fei Lei laughed again with a bit of embarrassment, Yan Mei's cheeks puffed up and she stomped her foot on Fei Lei's.

"What?!" Fei Lei asked with a clueless expression on his face.

Seeing that her legendary foot stomp had been thwarted by Fei Lei's thick skin, she stomped his foot a few more times before she turned her head away from him, crossed her arms, and let out a grumpy grunt.

"Did I do something wrong?" Fei Lei asked as he tilted his head around towards her.

Hina, seeing Yan Mei's reaction, smiled and placed her arm around Fei Lei's shoulder before whispering loudly enough for Yan Mei to hear, "How about you and I go out for a drink tonight? Maybe after we could find a..."

Yan Mei's eyes widened as Hina moved her body closer to Fei Lei, she then pushed out and shouted, "You can't!"

Although Yan Mei couldn't make her budge, Hina backed off and said, "I can't what?"

Yan Mei's eyes were darting left and right as she tried to come up with an excuse. Realizing she would have no choice but to embarrass herself, Yan Mei bit the bullet and shouted, "Because, Fei Lei is mine!"

Yan Mei placed her arm around Fei Lei's waist and pulled him close to her chest. She then turned her attention to Hina and glared daggers at her like a possessive kitten.

Hina smiled at Yan Mei and forced her into a hug, "Oh my gosh, you're so cute! Why don't you and I share a bed instead?"

Yan Mei was thoroughly shocked by Hina's statement. She went wide-eyed before wiggling free from Hina's grasp.

Yan Mei quickly hid behind Fei Lei like a frightened rabbit, she then pointed her finger at Hina and shouted, "I.I.I.I can't do that!"

"Why not? I'll have you know that I can be a lot of fun at night! You, me, and handsome over there can do a lot of things we couldn't do with just two people," Hina said grinning with a naughty look in her eyes.

Fei Lei and Yan Mei had both turned into vibrant red cherries, and their faces were covered in expressions of both shock and blush.

The two were so busy hiding their expressions, that they couldn't even notice the humous smirk on Hina's face.

Slapping them on the back, Hina laughed loudly and said, "I'm just kidding, lighten up a little will ya."

While she slapped them on the back, Hina couldn't help but notice Yan Mei's breasts shake. Then, as if some unknown instinct overtook her, Hina quickly moved in closer to Yan Mei before grabbing them and saying, "What do you feed these things?!"

As Hina continued to molest her breast, Yan Mei let out a shrieking, "Eep!" as she hopped around Fei Lei and used his body to hide from her.

Hina was flexing her fingers as if something was missing and then proceeded to grab her own breasts. She then looked back to Yan Mei who was poking her head out slightly from Fei Lei's side.

A funny smile came over Hina's face while the rest of the men in the crowd had many noses bleeds due to the spicy scene they witnessed.

Fei Lei, however, seemed to be turning some heads himself, many of the men had, "I will kill you!" looks written all over their faces.

Suddenly, a strange multicolored light lit up the area.

A tall man standing almost 6 feet 3inches tall, stood in mercenary style full plate black armor and wore a thick tan coat over it. On his back was a massive black sword that was almost as big as he was.

The weapon looked like it weighed a few hundred pounds, it was broad and squarish in shape, only towards the tip did the weapon shape finally show prove that it was actually a sword.

The light engulfed the area as the tester shouted, "Four Elements Roots! The rarest of all the roots have appeared!"

The man had a handsome face, short spiked back, black hair, and looked a few years older than Fei Lei.

On his face was a long diagonal scar going from the bottom half of his left cheek, all the way up across his eyelid, and ended over the middle of his eyebrow, while the second scar was going across the bridge of his nose in a simple horizontal line.

After passing the first test, the man with the 4-Element Roots stood forward and walked up to the pillar. He then quickly drew his sword and engulfed it in a Sigil, that could be read as, Elemental Equip.

The four classical elements blended into one as the sword hit the target. The area around the blade's striking zone suddenly turned to dust, and the 7-foot sword continued to cleave through the stone pillar while showing no surface resistance of any kind.

The warrior mage followed through with his cut effortlessly as it easily cleaved the pillar in half.

He then walked up on stage while the testing continued and several other talents were discovered.

There was a group of students from the same school that Hina was from, a few nobles, and the one caught Fei Lei's interest. It was a small boy with aqua blue hair. He was dressed in a butler-like uniform and was even shorter than Yan Mei.

His face looked like a doll, in fact, Fei Lei had to check a few times to make sure he wasn't looking at a girl.

As girlish-boy placed his hand on the orb, it started to create countless little explosive noises until it grew into a loud, chaotic, and explosive fireworks show.

"Dual Roots of Wind and Fire! Explosion Sigil owner!" The crowd gasped.

The boy walked over to the test dummy and raised his hand. Suddenly a Large level 1 Explosion Sigil appeared and landed on the surface of the pillar. Snapping his finger, the boy somehow tagged the pillar in markings, and when he snapped his finger for a second time, it was abruptly covered in dozens of micro-explosions that caused the stone pillar to fall into tiny pieces.

"Pass." The young-looking boy heard the announcer speak as he jumped up in joy as he walked on stage with everyone else.

The last person to register was a man wearing a grey robe, his roots-type was the standard for Dark Mana Roots, however, Fei Lei saw him do something with his other hand when he placed it on the orb.

The next test seemed rather simple for him. The grey cloaked mage coated the slab in his shadow and crushed it by compressing it over and over again.

Since the last person had signed up, the testers stood up and shouted, "Tomorrow morning, at the crack of sunrise, everyone that passed will reconvene here to compete for the ten party slots for the invading dungeon diving force."

Everyone started to scatter when Fei Lei, Yan Mei, and Hina decided to go to the Guild to register as a team.

"What are we going to call our team name?" Yan Mei asked.

"How about...The Mage Slayer's Disciples?!" Hina suggested while pumping her hands into the air.

"Who said you're joining!? Besides, I'm not one of his disciples, and Crimson Heroes has a much better ring to it." Yan Mei shot back.

Hina raised her hands and made a grabbing gesture with them, "If you don't invite me, I'll stalk your boobs!"

Hina started chasing after Yan Mei, the two were literally running circles around Fei Lei. In a desperate attempt to escape the clutches of Hina's harassment, Yan Mei pulled Fei Lei in front of her hands and proceeded to watch as Hina grouped him.

"This is nice too!" Hina said as she explored Fei Lei's muscles.

Hina then frowned as she felt that there was something off with Fei Lei's physique. She used her level-0 spell scan to examine his body's internal structure and said, "That's odd! Master said your physique was no different than a regular human's."

"I found a way to use my Sigil," Fei Lei said gently chopping the top of Hina's head.

"Ow!" Hina wined as she raised her hands to rub the spot he hit. She then looked at him with a great big smile and said, "Master will be so pleased!"

Yan Mei pulled Fei Lei away from Hina's grasps and asked with jealous anger in her tone, "Why are you so insistent on joining our party?"

"Because I promised Master that I would look out for him!" Hina replied while crossing her arms and nodding her head.

Fei Lei then said, "Why don't we let her join? She seems strong, and we could use a mid-range fighter to fill up the ranks. I'll be the Vanguard, and you can handle the long-range combat."

Yan Mei's cheeks puffed up as she stomped her feet in frustration and said, "Fine!"

Hina jumped on her and said, "Thank you, my cute little flower!"

"Player!" Yan Mei mumbled into his shoulder.

Fei Lei laughed before he held Yan Mei's hand and walked to the Guild Center. When they arrived at the building, Fei Lei saw a massive 3 story mansion that had a fancy sign with the words, Galleria Guild House written in a glowing text above its doors.

As the group walked into the Guild House, the trio noticed that the room was full of mercenaries and Mages that were strutting around in the lounge.

Strong abled body men that wore enchanted armor, Fei Lei noticed that they didn't have magic and were solely relying on the power of the magic items to increase their combat efficiency.

Elves and Dwarves roamed the halls, looking eager for work, and prepared to take on any challenge. Halflings bartered with fellow adventures and sold many different wares. Beastkin were getting rowdy and drinking joyously with their pack and fellow teammates.

There were dozens of wooden tables covered in food and drink, several hardened adventures walked back and forward between the bounty board full of ranked-quests for adventurers to take.

Fei Lei and the girls walked up to the counter. They had to wait a while, but once the line cleared up, they saw a young woman that was in her early 20's call them up to the front desk.

The clerk had short white hair and fair pink skin. Her eyes were a deep black color, and a single tiny mole could be seen below her lip.

She was wearing a long black dress with the Guild Emblem that consisted of a book and quill stitched into the surface of the breast pocket, and on top of her head was a navy-blue beret with that same symbol.

She also seemed very experienced at her job, as she was handling everything that came here way with expertise and ease.

After filing away some papers, the clerk looked up to them before asking, "Welcome to the Guild, what may I assist you with today?"

Fei Lei smiled and said, "My friends and I would like to register with the Guild. We'd also like to start our own Party."

The clerk swiveled around in her chair and rolled over to some nearby cabinets.

After she pulled out some papers, the clerk turned back around in a flash of speed and handed the files over as she said, "Please fill these out and head up to the second floor. The man behind the front desk will take your application, once you two register you will be given a short examination and test, and when you're done with that test, you can return here and fill out both your team name and member forum."

They took the paper and started to move away from the desk when Yan Mei stopped and asked, "What about Hina?"

Hina pulled out a card and waved it around. The ID had a picture of her face, age, name, Mage Rank, and Guild Rank.

"You guys have a lot of catching up to do, newbies! Especially you miss Yan Mei, what kind of noble doesn't have a guild license?" Hina asked as she waved the card in front of their faces.

"GRR..." Yan Mei growled before saying, "I was trying to be nice and she teases me!"

Fei Lei chuckled before he walked up next to Yan Mei who was busy stomping her feet the whole way to the staircase.

While they marched up the steps, Fei Lei patted her on the back and said, "You'll get her back."

Yan Mei grumbled, "Whatever."

"No I'm serious, if you don't tease her back, she'll see you as easy prey. If you do play along, she'll see you as an equal. She's trying to be your friend," Fei Lei explained.

"Friend?" Yan Mei's eyes drifted over to Hina for a second and then back to the stairs in front of her. With slightly red cheeks, she smiled and thought, "A friend, huh?"

As soon as the young couple entered the second floor, they both spotted a burly man sitting behind the desk. He was leaning back on a wooden chair with arms placed behind his head while his feet were on top of the counter. He was also snoozing with a book on his face.

In the two large rooms next to the front desk, were other adventures all sitting at various tables and working on paperwork. Some Guild Staff members could be seen running to and from various selves and filing cabinets while depositing and collecting numerous documents.

It seemed they were getting real-time updates on their adventures and cataloging certain issues or reports.

On the other side of the room, there were dozens of numbered doors and hallways.

Each of the doors led to things like important offices, testing grounds, and training rooms for the Guild Staff Members to aid their fellow adventurers.

Ignoring the strange man's snoring and the bustling Guild Affiliates, the young couple took their seats at a nearby desk that was already supplied with a quill and ink before quickly filling out their forums.

The questions they were asked seemed reasonably moderate. Just like any other standard application, they were required to fill out their names, age, Mage Rank, birthdate, first Sigil if none then skip this portion, special skills, places of employment, and a mailing address.

Fei Lei wrote down everything, for special skills he wrote combat expert and the world's first scientist. As for the mailing address, Fei Lei just wrote Monster Breeding Mountains.

Yan Mei wrote Fire Mage that can roast you alive and future Enchanter genius.

Fei Lei walked up next to him and cleared his voice causing the man to wake up.

The clerk's feet fell to the ground as the book landed on his lap, looking up at the two, they now had a clear look at his face. The man was middle-aged and had a few noteworthy scars that ran across his cheek and nose.

He yawned as he stretched out his arms and said, "You two new?"

They handed over the papers and while the man looked through Yan Mei and Fei Lei exchanged nervous glances. They were a little worried about the mailing address and whether they would accept it.

Not to mention, some of their answers were a little silly.

After scanning through the pages, he looked back at them with a disinterested stare before saying, "Head into room one."

Fei Lei and Yan Mei walked over and opened the door to enter into a large spacious room that was around 50 cubic meters. The walls of the room looked like it was made up of an unfamiliar crystalline material that shined with a luminescent light, and a large crystal altar in the distance spired up half the height of the room.

Yan Mei looked around before asking, "Isn't this the same material that the testing orb was made of?"

The two strolled to the center of the room to see an elderly gentleman sitting on top of a floating orb. He had a long flowing grey beard and was wearing a purple robe with white stars that covered up his entire article of clothing.

In front of him was a large crystal stand that had a small half-orb like protrusion poking out of a simple pillar.

The elder took notice of them as he looked down at them and said, "Place your hand on the pedestal."

Fei Lei stood up first. He walked over and placed his hand on the half sphere, and in a matter of seconds, a clear and bright light shined out while the room was abruptly filled with transparent Non-Elemental energy.

The old man didn't have time to freak out as the device started to shake along with the rest of the room. Suddenly, countless stars started to appear on the surface of the walls, it was as if they were standing in the vacuum of space and staring out into the eternal cosmos.

The elderly man started trembling, he looked to Fei Lei in horror as he fell off the floating orb and shouted. "I.I.I.I. Infinity Roots!"
