Chapter 32 - Alien

One picture in particular caught her eye.

It was the picture of Artemis in her chariot.

"How do you have this?" Reya whispered in shock.

He gazed up from his telescope. "Hmm, not telling,"

"Come on, tell me about her," she whined. she gazed deeply into the picture. It was definitely her. Even though it was dark when they met, she could definitely recognise her face.

"You know her?" he said.

Reay was a little surprise by his question. "I might," she shrugged.

He darted over to her and held her shoulders. "Tell me how?"

"I asked a question first," she folded her hands over and beckoned him to continue.

After moments of nonstop staring, he sighed. "Fine, ill answer your question, you should answer mine,"

She patted his shoulders. "Deal,"

"It's an alien specimen I'm researching," he whispered.

"What!! Alien!" she exclaimed.

'He is calling a goddess an alien. Oh my god, this crazy man is calling a beautiful goddess an alien. Goddess Artemis, if you are listening to this, please forgive his ignorant soul,' she prayed gazing at the ceiling.

"You are a weird one, you know that," he whispered with a wooden look on his face.

"I'm not weird. You are being ignorant and stop calling her an alien. It's offensive," she said.

He pulled the picture out of her hands. "Tsk, I am not."

Clive went back to his telescope.

"Soo…. all of these are from the red planet," she said as she walked closer to him.

"Yes, all of these and more. Everyday earth rotates we will be able to see a different angle." He said with a cheerful grin.

Reya was mildly interested. "Cool, what more did you see?"

He gestured to the telescope and the picture sand whispered, "They might be the ancestors of Mesopotamian civilisation,"

She had to admit she was pretty shocked. She saw all the pictures he had, but it seemed to unbelievable.

"What! No way," she exclaimed.

He shook his head. "Yes way, look at this," he pulled her towards the telescope and gestures for her to look inside.

With a sceptical look, she took a glance. But a glance was enough to shock her to the core. The entire civilizations was visible in close up. There was even piping water supply system.

"This is so cool. Did you discover all of this?" she whispered in astonishment.

"Yes, with my trusty Aeoss telescope everything is possible," he said and patted the body of the telescope. The viewfinder turned and the mystic structures were not visible anymore.

"Whoa, this would have cost you a fortune," she said, caressing the smooth surface of it.

Reya had always wanted one because her father used to talk about them a lot. But after he left, she lost all interest in star gazing.

"Hmm, just a chump change," he said with a proud look on his face. At the least the part of the face that was visible.

Clive rushed over to the table and brought over another file. "Also See this,"

There were pictures of pyramid like structures but somehow the base of it was different.

"Oh my god, these structures, they are similar to Egyptian civilisation. Except the bases. Ancient Egyptian used flat base for their pyramid but here they have used a semi-circular one,"

"Yea!! Cool right," he exclaimed in joy.

She shook her head in shock. "This is more than cool. This discovery could redefine our history,"

"Yeah, it could." He nodded and picked up another picture. "So could you tell me about this structure's history?"

"Yeah sure,"

Meanwhile, the butler Lukas waited for them on the ground floor.

"What is taking them so long?" Reya's mother whispered.

Mark had an anxious look on his face. "Don't tell me they are fighting again,"

Lukas was also anxious. "it was my bad, I should not have sent Ms. Reya to call master down,"

Mr. Kooper sprang out of seat and rushed towards the stairwell. "Don't worry, my brother is unruly, I will beat some sense into him,"

"Hurry," Lukas urged.

They all ran up the flight of stairs and reached the room.

It was serenely quiet.

With a frown, Mark gazed at the closed door. "You don't think they killed each other, do you?"

"I sure hope not," Lukas said and whipped his sweat.

"Whatever my daughter will have kicked his ass," Reya's mother said with gusto.

Silently, they opened the door.

There were papers everywhere.

A small candle light flickered on the floor.

Nearby, two of them laid on their stomach, whispering to each other.

"You think these theories might be true," Reya whispered.

He nodded his head in agreement. "I think so, but I like to believe that world was created during big bang,"

"I think so too. Why do we think so alike?" Reya whispered with glee.

"I know right, it's like we are long-lost friends. And you are one of the smartest girl I've met. Given I don't meet that many women." he said with a flustered expression.

"I'll take that as a compliment," she smirked at him
