Chap. 1 - Ivana

As she walked down the hallways, Ivana checked the rooms to ensure all the engines were secure. The ship was guaranteed safety with the Freedom Seal, so they didn't need to worry about being attacked by demons. However, walking down the corridors of the Sanctuary Ship Maria was always eerie. The creaks and booms of the engine made it feel almost alive. As she headed back to her room, she suddenly heard a loud bang.

"PLEASE REMAIN CALM. EVACUATE THE SHIP. EVACUATE THE SHIP. CURRENTLY UNDER ATTACK BY AN A-RANK DEMON."

Ivana spun on her heel and sprinted to the Captain's Pod. As the doors opened, she grabbed the speaker and announced, "Attention all passengers. The S.S. Maria is compromised, I repeat, the S.S. Maria is compromised. Please evacuate to the nearest exit. Attendants will assist you. Leave as quickly as possible. This is your captain, Ivana Louvouge. Please, make it out safely."

She sat down and began sending out holographic distress signals. "This is the S.S. Maria to Sky City Atlanta. The ship is under attack by an A-Rank Demon. Please send rescue ships to our location."

As she transmitted the emergency radar signal, the ship shuddered violently.

"Shutting down the left engine."

"No, no, no." Panic flashed in her eyes as the engines slowly shut down.

Someone burst into the room. "Captain, all the passengers have been evacuated to the rescue ship. We need to go!"

She turned around, "Javier, the ship is shutting down! We can't make it out because of the threat outside! If too many of us leave, we'll all be attacked!"

Terror flickered in his eyes, and he gripped her shoulders, "So you're saying we should be bait!?"

Her eyes dimmed. "It is a Captain's duty to ensure the safety of their passengers. You can go onto the rescue ship if you want, but I am staying here." She turned away from him and stared at the sky. A moment later, something that looked like a giant grasshopper jumped in front of the ship. As the glass shattered, it came closer and closer until the ship began to fall.

There are twelve S-ranked demons are known as the twelve great beasts of land and sea, including creatures like the Kraken, Leviathan, and Cthulhu.

Holograph - A holographic system used to send messages between individuals, particularly for emergency communications between ships.

Sky Ships - After humanity lost both land and sea to demons, they retreated to the sky, building cities known as Sky Cities. Sky Ships were developed and are now more commonly used than airplanes.

Sky Cities - After losing land and sea to demons, humanity's last hope was the sky. Sky Cities are powered by solar energy and energy generated from physical activity (with weekly workouts for extra power), and they can descend to the sea to recharge in emergencies.

S.S. Maria - A sky ship en route to Sky City Gornova to drop off passengers and collect resources.
