Skinwalkers: based on a true tale

They are relentless and ferocious. They hunt men as though they are animals. They do not fear any weapons man made or otherwise. Worse of all, they take on a shape that we trust, they can be your family, friends, or even your pet. Be wary of everything. I write this now because I feel that this story must be known to all, even at the risk of my own life. What are these creatures called? The American Indians called them skinwalkers, those that walk the world as monsters in human skin, other legends call them vampires, werewolves, even trolls. Join me as we explore what these creatures have done to a small town in southern Colorado. These events are based on a true story. Thirty-six eyewitnesses have came forward and told their side and this is the story I have pieced together.

Part VI

Warning

This part will contain some material not suitable for all audiences. Viewers be advised.

Hey guys, this part of Skinwalkers will be… something I have eluded to for a while. I was originally told about it as part of Joseph's story but felt it belonged in Mary Anne's. This breaches a lot of rules I have set for myself as a writer but, I had promised those who have lived this story that I would stay faithful to the original source and I plan to either stick to that promise or stop writing this series all together.

This has been among the hardest parts to write and was the hardest thing to listen to. There had been multiple times I had given up and decided to just stop writing this story only to be reminded why I had started this story in the first place. This story isn't just a thrilling story that scares people of all ages, it is also a story of a group who struggled to survive an impossible situation.

I hope everyone who is reading this will understand that these people are real and these events are what they believe had happened to their town. I personally didn't believe some of the story but after an odd set of events I am starting to think most, if not all of what they said is true. As always, I must let you know that if you speak, write, hear, read, or see anything about or of these creatures, you will become a target for them to play with. There are no weapons, man made or otherwise, that can harm these creatures. They are relentless and humans are nothing but food and materials for their potions. If you see one, then do not leave your home, that is when the game begins. If you live on or near a burial ground, move. They tend to lure their victims to such sites where their young lay in wait.

Mary Anne gritted her teeth in anguish as the pain from the creature's grip shot up her leg. It was like nothing she had ever felt nor did she ever wish to feel again. She thrashed about, trying to get loose but the creature's iron grip held her right leg in place as she was dragged behind it.

Out of desperation, Mary Anne kicked at the back of the creature's leg, landing a blow behind it's knee. The creature fell to the ground and Mary Anne, the poor foolish Mary Anne, struggled to get to her feet. She planned to run and get help, to find someone who could protect her and her unborn child from harm, but the creature's grip still held her leg.

Mary Anne screamed out for help as she pulled on her leg and beat on the creature's hand. She wanted nothing more than to escape and be freed from the pain she felt. As she struggled, the creature stood back up and turned to her. It bore down on Mary Anne, it's empty face that was void of all features save for a sinister toothy smile loomed close to hers.

It reached up a hand placing a single thin finger on Mary Anne's lips, hushing her as a new kind of pain shot through her jaw and jared her brain. The pain was almost electrifying in nature as it quickly coursed through her body shutting down all attempts of struggle. She was so stunned by the pain, her mind reeling from the electrical shock her brain took, that she hadn't noticed the creature's finger slide down her face and rip open her shirt with a single swift movement.

Now, I know what you are thinking and dear reader, I wish it was something like that, not really, but at least we can treat those kinds of situations. This however was something… worse. Far worse than having someone force themselves onto you. Far worse than torture. And far worse than death. I wish I was kidding when I say this, but Mary Anne herself has told me that she wishes the creature had simply forced itself onto her or even killed her. The mental scars from that day still haunt her and she still hears the sound of what happened in her dreams till this very day.

The creature pushed it's long and white finger against Mary Anne's bloated belly sending new found pain through her abdomen. Mary Anne's back arched in pain as she desperately tried to push the creature's hand away, trying to protect the last bit of joy she had in this world, her child. The creature's grotesque smile seemed to broaden as it's long white fingers dug into Mary Anne's flesh, through her muscles and organs, and finally to her womb where her child rested, waiting to be born. It clasped it's long white fingers around the unborn child. Mary Anne, feeling every movement the creature made, screamed and pleaded with God or whoever was listening to please just kill her and save her baby. The creature pulled it's hand free from Mary Anne's womb, the unborn child's lifeless body in hand.

The creature leaned down and placed its mouth on the still born child and slowly bit into it's skin, sending Mary Anne into a hysterical fit. She cannot recall what all happened afterwards, but she does recall looking over at one point and watching as Joseph's mother was forced to drink a tar like liquid before she passed out.

I am going to end this part here, folks. This was hard for me to write and I found myself crying a lot as I imagined what it would be like to experience something that was so horrible that I would wish it was "just rape", as Mary Anne put it. Before I end this, though, I would like to say that this wasn't meant to play down something as disgusting as rape or make it seem ok at all. Rape is the most disgusting act anyone could pull but Mary Anne herself had been the one to say she would have rathered to have had that done "because" to quote her, "at least than I would be able to get psychological help, but who would believe that a monster tore me open and ate my child in front of me?"

Guys, please remember these are real people and, where their experience may not be 100% accurate, they believe this all happened, so please, do not judge them too harshly on what they have done.
