8. Double cleansing (III)/ Cleanser Types

I'm not going to rant again about all that ish...so let's just get into cleansing oils for normal skin

NORMAL SKIN:

1. Burt's bees cleansing oil with coconut and argan oil, $11

2. Simple hydrating cleansing oil,$7

3. DHC DEEP CLEANSING OIL,$28

4. Skinfood black sugar perfect cleansing oil,$21

There are many diy's on the internet on how to make an oil cleanser according to skin types , but I recommend you don't do it as the oils used for preparation are concentrated and by using it there is a danger of forming cystic acne (trust me u really don't want that to happen) and experimenting with different oils may make your skin sensitive so don't do that...but if you really want to try then don't use oils that are comedogenic such as coconut oil, castor oil, olive oil etc.....(always patch test the product).....do some research on it and try to find out what works for you.

You don't need to double cleanse twice everyday.....just doing it at night is enough, if that doesn't work for you then you could just do it for every two/three days.

Reminders to keep in mind while using an oil cleanser:

1. Use the oil cleanser directly on dry skin ....don't wet the skin before using it

2. Massage the oil cleanser into the skin in circular motions towards the outer direction...don't be too hard on areas around your eyes.

3. Don't forget to use the product on your neck.

4. You could also try steaming your face after massage and rinse properly after it.

TYPES OF CLEANSERS

There are so many different kinds of cleansers with different benefits....so it's very easy for us to be confused about what kind to use on our skin. Knowing difference between cleansers can easily help you find the right cleanser for your skin without having to try too many products by falling for marketing strategies.

✓GEL CLEANSERS:

------->Oily/Combination skin

They don't add unnecessary dirt on your face and are very helpful in decongesting clogged pores.

It is heaven sent for oily skin.

✓CREAM CLENASERS:

------->Dry/Sensitive skin

They don't strip your skin of it's natural oils but gently cleanses your skin.

✓FOAM CLENASERS:

------->Extremely oily skin

Foam cleansers are extremely fun and all..... but I generally don't recommend using a foam cleanser as it can be quite harsh on your skin .....they can change your skins ph and cause sensitivity...I'm not completely against it but be extra careful when searching for foam cleansers.

✓MICELLAR CLEANSERS:

------->Dry/Sensitive skin

This kind attracts dirt particles from the skin and cleanses gently

You don't need to rinse with water again

Just saturate the Cotton pad with the cleanser and gently swipe them off.

✓BAR/CLAY CLENASERS:

------->Oily/Combination skin:

Clay cleansers purify your skin by drawing out dirt from the skin.

Use bar cleansers that have little to no amount of soap in them.

Make sure that both types are of skin friendly pH levels [4.8--6].

✓FACE WIPES:

I'd advise you to steer clear of using a facial wipe instead of a cleanser as they don't remove all the dirt from the skin and most of them contain alcohol in it which can cause a drying affect on the skin. So instead of replacing a wipe as a cleanser ....just use it only when necessary.
