27. Gift Part 2

The minotaur's sight shifted to Lily when she snatched Newt's sword away. It prepared for another charge and ran all the way to Lily's location.

"I'll show you stupid brats how you do it." There was so much confidence in Lily's tone. Newt knows that she won't be able to pull it off. He was about to step in when Fritz put him into a halt.

"Aren't you excited to see what she will do?" Everything Fritz was thinking was all about fight and excitement.

Newt was worried that something horrible might happen to Lily. After all that treatment he gave her, he can't let her do something reckless and die.

"Lily looks so fragile. I doubt she won't be able to wield my sword properly."

Newt likes to wield weapons that are heavy enough for him to swing around. The sword he's using currently was quite heavy for a girl like Lily.

"Stop worrying about me. I'm not a little girl anymore. I'm already ten years old. I'm your big sister!"

'Wow, Lily sure knows how to joke.'

"Here it comes."

Lily put her left foot forward as she clutched both hands on the sword.

"Is she going for a swing? Wasn't she watching since the fight start?"

The minotaur kept on gnashing with its pointy horn up front, ready to ravage anyone who will block its path.

"Ahhh! I can't watch it. She'll break!" Newt covered his eyes but looked between the gap of his fingers.

The dwarf girl readied herself. She endangers herself and waited patiently for the right time to attack. The minotaur saw her as a thing to vigorously ravage. It has to kill every living it set its sights on.

"Oh no, she's done for!"

There it is! Lily saw the perfect time to attack the minotaur at a distance of half a meter. She made calculations inside her mind and, a course of actions circulated in her mind, trying to figure out what would be the best move to initiate.

The minotaur was about to gnash for the last time before it rams Lily horrendously when the dwarf girl made a full upward swing.

"Oooh!"

That attack stopped the minotaur in its track as Lily inflicted severe damage on its body, causing excruciating pain. The minotaur exclaimed and was about to hit Lily with its huge fist when the dwarf girl's sword descended its sturdy rainbow horn. Shivers ran a course through her whole body, losing grip on the sword.

"She's in danger!"

Fritz became quick on his foot, rashly dashed towards Lily. He lifts her and saved her from getting crush by the minotaur's destructive fist.

Rocks that were scattered on the ground began shaking. It moved eventually and gathered together to form into a golem. A meter and a half tall rocks came into life. Fritz motioned the golem to attack the minotaur.

The two tall figures clashed into a fistfight. The minotaur tried to tackle down the down. However, the rock-solid golem didn't budge. Instead, it slammed its rock hands down the minotaur's back.

Astounded at the sight of the two monsters' fight, the three kids seemed to be enjoying the fight.

"Care to put me down now?" Fritz was still carrying Lily like a princess in his arms. He put her down and slightly bowed his head.

"I thought you're a swordsman? How come you're able to summon a golem?"

There's not that many mage or magician that could summon a golem. Making one could cost the summoner a lot of his or her MP. It could even drain and render them unable to move after trying for the first time.

"It's a secret of mine but," Fritz motioned her to lean closer to him. "I'll tell you my secret." He was talking seriously. His tone made Lily swallowed, eager to hear what Fritz's secret is. "I am the reincarnation of God Mage, Esecleus."

Lily gasps, believing such an obvious lie. "T-the reincarnation of the God Mage, Esecleus?" She was stuttering in surprise. "This is the first time I have heard of that name. Anyway, that must be the reason why you're able to summon a golem and feels totally fine."

'I'm just putting up a front. My legs feel weak and, it's shaking.'

"Of course. A man should not look weak in front of a woman!"

Newt joined in the fight not too long ago. With the help of the golem, the hero kid was able to kill the ferocious Minotaur without Fritz noticing.

"Ah, the brat just killed the minotaur."

Fritz immediately looked at Newt. Lily wasn't lying about what she said. The hero brat was standing on top of the dead minotaur.

"Look, Fritz. I beat you to it! wahahahaha!"

The Outsider brat smiled at his friend's foolishness. "So, how do we extract the rainbow horn?"

Newt hasn't done it in the past, extracting a minotaur's rainbow horn. Although he hasn't done it, he knows how to do it. He was taught by one of his party members back when he was on his way to a minotaur's lair on how to skin and clean the minotaur's head.

"What do you think? Do we cut the horn from the base? Or do we cut a single portion of the horn?"

Fritz doesn't wanna think about what they should do and rushed Newt into doing his thing. "Just get on with it already!" For some reason, he can see Newt's head getting bigger with his hands akimbo.

"Tch, you're no fun, as always." Newt jumped down the ground and grabbed the minotaur's rainbow horn. "We won't do any horn cutting from here on out. What we will do is we will behead this monster. Skin it, scoop out its brain, eyes and clean its skull. The horn is intact to its forehead. Cutting it would take us a few hours."

"Who's gonna carry the whole skull of the minotaur, then?"

"Store it inside your spatial inventory. Man, you gotta use your brain."

Fritz's brow arched up. "That's too big. It won't fit inside my inventory." He stubbornly denies the fact that it could fit.

"Fine. But, the profit's gonna be 60/40!"

"Fritz, what's a spatial inventory?" Lily's question made Fritz ignored what Newt was saying to him.

Instead of answering her question with words, Fritz chose to show her what it is. He showed her his sword and, a small black hole in the air appeared. Only Fritz could see the content of his inventory. He stored the sword in his inventory and, Lily was dumbfounded.

"Wow, that's really convenient!"

"Right?"

"Oi, don't ignore me. I'm talking!"

Splendidly, Newt skinned the minotaur. He did most of the job. The only thing Fritz did was watch him. As he stated, he scooped out the eyeballs and the brain in a careful manner. Both organs could still fetch some price.

"Stop crying, Newt." He's been crying ever since after doing the job done.

"Who's not going to cry when the meat you're eating feels like rubber! I've been chewing it forever and, it's still not soft and ready to swallow!"

Fritz and Lily were chowing the orcs' meat skewered they saved a few days ago.

"Who's excited about the minotaur's meat? You're the one who told us that it would take a day for the minotaur's meat to soften up and, yet you're eating its grilled meat."

"Aaaaaahhhhhh!"

They boiled the minotaur's meat in a large pot for a day. They took turns putting wood into the fire for it not to lose its heat.

"At last! It's finally soft and not hard to chew on!"

They put the meat into the skewer and grilled the meat into the heat. After that, they had a tummy full of the minotaur's tasty meat.

"So, it's the outside world I've been hearing about?"
