Duo II

Reh and Zelarya's entire journey to the Mar Kingdom was peaceful and quiet. They didn't talk to each other aside when Reh was asking some questions.

And even though Zelarya was Reh's slave, he didn't indulge and asked some personal about Zelarya's life. He believes that it's not his problem...

For now.

The capital of the Mar Kingdom Daw was similar to Umanata, the capital of the Kunid Kingdom. The two share borders with each other, so it's not surprising to know and learn the similarities between the two. There was also a monster's habitat near Daw, so it's one of the hot spots for the Adventurers.

Reh and Zelarya make their way to the entrance of Daw. Reh showed his Adventurer Tag to the guard, and the guard immediately let them in. Also, Zelarya was wearing a cloak to hide her body and face. Reh knew that her appearance would be brought some problems along the way...

Well... It's not that Reh was scared. He doesn't want to waste his precious time on some flies and rats.

"Need a room?" A tavern owner asked Reh.

The two were now inside one of the taverns here in Daw.

"The largest one..." Reh replied.

"That would be ten gold coins--."

"Doesn't matter... Were going to stay until me and my companion decided to leave Daw." Reh said, then he put 20 gold coins on the counter.

The owner looked at Reh and his cloaked companion before giving him the key to the room. "It's on the third floor. Your meal is on the house... Just get down here and order whatever you wanted."

Reh just nodded his head before leaving the counter and started to walk toward their room.

The room was large, but it was plain. There was only one wardrobe, one large bed, couple of chairs. The windows were small enough to avoid anyone who wanted to see what was happening inside. But what Reh truly admired is the room had its bathroom. Most of the taverns only have one bathroom and are located on the 1st floor or outside the tavern.

'Maybe that's why the rent was ten gold coins. This room has its bathroom...'

"Let's go... I have something important to do, but first, we'll go to Adventurers Guild. You can rest after that."

Zelarya didn't reply but just towards the door and waited for Reh to leave first.

'Still not replying, huh?' Reh thought, but he shrugged it off and continued to walk out the room while Zelarya followed him.

The duo didn't have a hard time finding where the Adventurer's Guild was located. It is five taverns away from where their tavern is. So they easily saw it.

Reh didn't waste any more time as he quickly went inside. And like what happened in the previous Guild, all the female Adventurers blushed and turned their eyes on Reh while the male had scornful expressions on their faces. But Reh ignored it and just continued towards the crystal section.

Luckily, the one who managed the crystal section was a male, so the transaction was smooth and no further delayed, unlike when it was a female.

'It is troublesome, but I needed to do this to continue my masked as an Adventurer...' Reh thought after he received the payment.

The crystal is another source of Original Mana, but it is a story for another time...

"Let's go back..."

"I'll go downstairs and talk with the tavern owner. You can rest now and go downstairs to order some food if you feel hungry..." Reh said before he walked out of their room.

Does he think that somehow, Zelarya would try run away? Nope. A slave couldn't last without their master. A slave without a master is considered a fugitive slave. Only death would await them if they were caught.

Upon arriving on the first floor, Reh went to the counter and put a silver coin on it.

The owner immediately notices him, "What do you want to know?"

"New information about the Empire..."

"About the Empire... So, you are from an outskirts village, huh? Anyway, after a long defensive stance of the Empire, Emperor Venantius ordered the start of the offensive of the Human race. By now, the Alliance Confederation Army was marching toward the lands that the Demons occupied for many years.

And at the forefront was the party of Dion, the holder of Mythical Class, Hero. His party was the one who led the charge towards the Demons..."

'Dion... Are you still playing the Hero role, huh? What an idiot... Well... What would my classmates feel when they learned and knew the intention and goal of Venantius? Hahahaha... I can't wait to see their expressions...' Reh thought.

"About the movement of the other Heroes?"

Upon coming in, he immediately notices Zelarya sleeping in the bed. A slave sleeping on the bed was not a big deal for Reh. He could sleep anywhere he wanted. But given the appearance of Zelarya, it is noticeable that she was not accustomed to sleeping everywhere aside from the bed.

Reh sat at the chair while he pondered the new information he got from the owner.

"Five to six days, huh? How should I welcome them?" Reh mumbled as he planned how to give his former classmates a warm welcome.

Reh stopped when he heard Zelarya. He stood up and looked at her. She was sleeping but there was a tears coming from her eyes.

Please... Forgive me... Sniff... I was a disgrace in our family... I failed to prevent the Empire from meddling in Queendom's internal affairs... Sniff..."

'Empire? Queendom? This elf... She's not a normal Elven woman...'
