"Well, isn't that just great? Gay means happy, so that means I'm a happy person!" Crystet exclaimed as Aaron put his head in his palm. "Well, at least you know the other version. I don't have to go around explaining what the word gay means in both senses of the word." Aaron sighed, his eyes returning to their original colour of black. He made the pink sphere he had near his hand disappear, removing its infinite spin. He needed to try thinking about this situation logically, and if he made any rash decisions, it could impact their adventures going forward.
"We need to figure out how the system of this world works, and by that, I mean how everything runs. If we do something that goes against the natural law of this world, we'll be immediately identifiable. That's why Crystet, you shouldn't try to take over anywhere just yet, and I should try establishing some human connections. We need to make people know that there are Demon Lords that don't wish for the pure destruction of mankind. Take me, for example. I used to be human, but now I am not. Crystet used to be human, but now he is not. All it takes is a slight change in perspective to see that we all can act like humans if we want." Aaron pointed out as he crouched down to talk to Clair again. "Listen, Clair. I have an idea of something fun you or your other personality might like to do. How do you feel about giving a little visit to the people in your village?" Aaron proposed with a different idea in his mind. He wanted to show them why you should never leave a child out to die.
"Sure, but why would we want to do that? They don't want me to return, do they?" Clair asked, drawing Aaron's smile out onto his face. He was going to enjoy these next few hours. "Oh, they're going to wish they didn't send you out into the wild to be sacrificed." Aaron ominously stated, his eyes glowing a dark crimson. A sign of rage and the will to do what he sets out to do. You could also call this will a temporary form of atychiphobia, otherwise known as the fear of failure, which he's had before.
Time for some explaining. Why do you think Aaron went through with his plans in the time period you would've read as between chapter 60 and chapter 100? That was atychiphobia. He was afraid of failing. He had come so far, and for it to come crumbling down would have been something devastating. After all, all he wanted was to have a good fight, and for him to get it, in the end, was his goal.
In his first life, he was a successful businessman. The only reason he had become such a good worker was that he was afraid to fail. It was almost irrational. He had a high success rate concerning business deals simply because he was scared of failing. It made him feel worthless. That had slowly been watered down over his adventures, but it was still present.
Aaron picked up Clair, making his wings disappear. They would have gotten in the way, and he wasn't fond of the idea of making a child sit on limbs that were easily flexible while he walked. He placed her on his shoulders, holding her light weight on his body. "Ready to go pay them a visit? After all, we need to show them a little lesson or two about manners, don't we, Clair?" Aaron asked her, who just smiled and nodded. She didn't know what Aaron meant by that, so she just smiled and shook her head up and down to make it seem like she knew what he was talking about. "Good. Crystet, follow along behind me, but make sure you don't get noticed by any other humans. It's too early for you to make your appearance. We want people to first become friends with me, and once I say I'm friends with you, you can come out and be all chill. After all, if you come out and try to talk to people now, all you'll be is a symbol of fear, no matter what you try to do. Your appearance immediately gives you away, while I can change my own body to what I think suits." Aaron stated, bragging about his body. "Lucky." Crystet simply responded as he stood behind Aaron. Aaron began to run forward, keeping the child in place using Boundless Telekinesis.
Soon enough, the village came into sight, and Aaron couldn't help but feel somewhat pleased with what he was about to do. He rushed up to the entrance before looking back at Crystet, watching him stay hidden in the direst. Good thinking on his behalf. Aaron walked inside the village, seeing the buildings made out of wood, with the occasional brick house. Aaron looked around before dropping Clair on the ground. "Walk forward a bit. I need to check something. I'll be right behind you." Aaron told Clair, who had no reason to not trust his words. She walked forward, and Aaron walked behind a building, listening to the conversation that ensued.
Four men walked out towards Clair, and all they did was sneer at her. "So, look at that! The psychopath is back again! You were meant to be eaten by the Demon King, idiot! Now he's going to come back and eat one of us!" One of the older men yelled, and Aaron couldn't help but laugh. "Who's there?!" The man screamed, and Aaron just stepped out from behind the building, putting his hand on Clair's head. "The Demon King? He's dead! I saw who killed him too!" Aaron exclaimed, watching the eyes of the villagers open in shock. They wanted to know how such a monster was killed. "Who was it?!" They all yelled in unison as Aaron smiled.
"It was me."
