Aaron chuckled as he lifted his hands up to eye level, watching as the skin on his left hand's index finger turned to scales. It was part of his new skill, Hardened Skin. He had expected it to just make his skin that much harder to damage, but if he got scales, that was cool too. Sciat and Seph just stared at him in shock, as None smirked. First off, he had killed the Basilisk, but then he had absorbed it. It was like he had just eaten it as if it was a meal.
Neither of them had seen God Eater before, but Seph had heard about the skill from Aaron himself. He just didn't expect God Eater to be so...quick. He thought it'd take much longer than that because Aaron absorbed it in around five seconds. "Aaron, what the hell was that?!" Sciat yelled as Aaron's right arm turned back to normal. "I've never seen that skill before!" Sciat exclaimed, curious at what the skill could do.
"Well, of course, you haven't seen it, Sciat," Aaron explained as he snapped his fingers, removing the scales from his index finger. "After you died, the planet that we were on exploded. Mainly by its core expanding in such a way that the planet didn't become larger. Instead, the core encompassed the planet, and it violently exploded. Yeah. After that, I got this ability. It's called God Eater, and it's really cool." Aaron continued as he slowly walked over towards Sciat. "This is my ability. The trait needed to learn new things. To evolve. To gain access to new skills. It's something not many have, and it's something I can teach." Aaron finished, teleporting three metres away.
"However, that's enough about me. The Basilisk took up so much time, and it didn't even result in us getting it to help us, so we have to go find the orcs and werewolves." Aaron said, reminding the pair of their original objective. "Oh, yeah, we were doing that. I got too engrossed in seeing you kill that Basilisk. You're pretty powerful now, aren't you, Aaron?" Sciat asked as Aaron's wings disappeared. "Well, after such a long time of killing things and just getting a bit more common sense, I've learned how to deal with situations like this, apparently. Although this is nothing compared to what the other gods would throw at you," Aaron explained, cracking his knuckles as he did. "Black holes mean nothing to them, as you might know. After all, to know that your friend had died must have meant you watched the fight, right? You'd have been around gods with indescribable power levels."
"Yes, I did watch that fight, and I was surrounded by them. The gods' power level was overbearing. My friend fought you valiantly, however. He fought stronger than me, my friends or any of the other Demonoids could have. My friend was a well-trained opponent, but it was unfortunate that he had been paired up against you. All that potential gone to waste, but at least it was you and not some random monster or humanoid that had gone up against him. If it wasn't against you, he would have been killed on the spot." Sciat reminded him as Aaron made the soul that had come from the Demonoid God appear in his hand. "This is his soul. Here, take this. You were his friend, so I want you to have this." Aaron said as a copy of the soul flew towards Sciat. "This is a perfect soul, Sciat. His soul. What you were looking for this whole time. You weren't going to ask me for it, but I know you wanted something like it." Aaron explained, closing his palm, making the soul disappear using Boundless Telekinesis to do so. However, if you were to do that without manually making it vanish, you'd absorb the soul and become 1% Boundless.
Sciat stared at the soul in disbelief as he closed his palm upon the soul in a similar fashion to Aaron, believing that was the way to make it disappear, and Aaron just stared at him with a shocked expression plastering his face. "Thanks, I needed a copy of his soul. I wanted something to remember him by." Sciat told Aaron, not realising what he had done. Suddenly, Sciat began to glow with a blinding white light, and Aaron just sighed. "Great, there's another Boundless person here." Aaron groaned, and he wondered what was going to happen. "At least he'll be more like his friend now." Aaron finished as the light blinded him, reminding him of flashbangs from a game he used to play
Once the light had calmed down, Aaron looked at Sciat and saw a different form of him standing there. It was simply different. He couldn't make out any of the details yet as there was still light blocking his vision. He tried to see past it, but he could only barely see an outline, and even then, he couldn't make out any details. However, that was all he could see. What he could sense was on a whole different level. Sciat's mana levels had gone through the absolute roof, and it was like he had become an entirely different being. However, Aaron could see a cap to his magic level, but it was still higher than probably anyone on this planet or the next. It was madness.
Finally, the light that shone from Sciat died down, and Aaron watched as he unfurled a pair of scarlet wings with colour-matching claws to accompany them. They looked more natural than Aaron's skeletal wings, but Aaron then looked at his head. There was a strange marking around his eye. Aaron couldn't really tell what it was, but it looked somewhat like a crest. Maybe a Demonoid Crest or something along those lines. Aaron watched as Sciat stretched his back while turning to face Aaron. "Aaron, what the hell just happened?" Sciat asked, flexing his wings outwards as something popped inside them, and Sciat sighed in relief.
"Well, to put it simply, you became like me. You became Boundless."
