Death

Aaron woke up to a constricting force around his chest area. It didn't hurt, but it was certainly pushing his armour as far as it could go. He opened up his eyes, and saw Light picking him up in both hands. His eyes glowed slightly red, as his face kept its grin.

"Heya, Light. Did you miss me?"

Yua popped up beside Light, with tear marks down her face, possibly due to the realisation that he was alive. Yua was the first of the pair to speak.

"Of course we were! You evolved, held your head in pain and burst open in a stream of white light. And then you crumbled to dust! How are you back?"

"Oh, just a little ability of mine. I'm alright now, however, but I must say, I have some level gap to overcome now. Gotta check my status."

"Wow. I need one hundred and sixty levels to evolve again. That's a decent amount."

"One Hundred and Sixty?!", Yua and Light yelled out. They only needed forty! Why did he need so many?

"Oh yes, I have to show you. At this point, the armour is just to make humans think I am a human. Let me take off this helmet..."

Aaron pulled the helmet away from his skull, and was met with a gasp from Yua.

"Did you become corrupted too?"

"What? No. It's a customised evolution line. The Holy Black Skelengelis. Also known as my fourth evolution, or the fifth stage of being."

"Wow...you must be quite strong now."

"Let me show you."

Aaron took off all of his armour, fully pulling himself out as a skeleton, showing that his entire body was black. He then walked into the horde of monsters, as they began to claw at him.

He then walked back to he cave, as the other monsters left him alone.

"I took no damage throughout all of that. Also, I think I may be gaining Exp faster than I am meant to be."

[This effect has always been in place, without anyone realising. Now that it has been analysed, it does not need to worry about hiding from the menus. None Shall Surpass is a skill designed for Aaron Stone which grants him many multiplications in the experience points department. He, and all of his party members, gain unnaturally high experience boosts.]

"Heh, so that's why."

"So that's why what?", Yua asked. She couldn't hear Aaron's system unless he brought up the system for her to hear.

"Why we gain unnaturally high experience. My skill. No wonder you both gained ten levels in one or two monster kills. It only took you around seventeen kills to get to level twenty."

Aaron smiled to himself, but not for long. A shocking magical blast bolted into the crowd of monsters in the Great Expanse. It sent monsters flying everywhere, including into his cave. He picked that one up with a single bony hand, and flung it past his range of vision. He walked out of the cave, Yua and Light joining him. Light was just barely able to fit through the entrance/exit of the cave, as they turned to their right. A small group of seven adventurers has entered the Great Expanse. Aaron had thought nothing of it. As long as they didn't bother him, he was fine about it.

That was, until, they tried to attack him.

The mage of the party cast a flame magic ability simply titled "Fireball", at Aaron. Aaron simply turned his body, and lifted up his hand. As soon as it hit his hand, it extinguished, sending a gasp throughout the party. Aaron turned around fully, as his hand became splayed.

"Skelengelic Scythe!"

A scythe appeared in his splayed hand, as it became covered in purple flames for a quick second, before they entinguished.

"You adventurers fired an attack at the wrong Skelengelis."

Aaron suddenly appeared behind the mage that had attacked him, and cut his head cleanly off with his scythe. This only took him around a hundred milliseconds to do. The mage didn't even know he was dead.

Aaron appeared in his original position, holding the scythe with the head still on it. He tilted the scythe, dropping the head to the floor, as blood dropped out of it, while his body became a fountain of blood, spurting all over the part members. The other monsters hadn't noticed yet.

The adventurers fell to their knees, as their legs lost the ability to hold them up. Aaron pointed the tip of the bloodied scythe towards the lead adventurer, as he gave them a final chance to speak.

"Do you have any last words, or a specific question you want answered?"

The adventurer gulped, as his body shook with the fear of knowing that he was going to die.

"Y-Y-Yes... W-Who are you?"

Aaron acted out a fake contemplating gesture, and then gave his answer to the trembling swordman.

"I am Death. And you are the next ones on my list."

And with that, his scythe cut through their bodies like a hot knife through butter. They were like paperweights. Although, he didn't get any experience points from a human. It was odd, but he didn't care. Blood spurted from their bodies, which grabbed the attention of the nearby monsters, as they walked over to eat a meat they had never tried before.

Aaron simply walked back to his cave, as he said one thing to Yua and Light.

"Go wild."
