Night came and they journeyed on. The weather became raspy and cold as the bus sped along the asphalted road, and Derek followed the running trees with his eyes. Even though it was now late in the night, he didn't feel sleepy. His eyes were just fixed outside.

The bus came to a stop at exactly 1am. It was very late in the night. This wasn't the plan. He would have arrived maybe around 5am or 6am if he had waited a little longer before setting off. He had left on impulse earlier.

Now he had to lodge in a hotel till the day finally broke. He could have just gone to the old mansion, but he didn't want to disturb the sleep of the workers at this time of the night with his arrival.

He went to the nearest hotel and booked a room for the rest of the night and soon, the day broke without him having a wink of sleep.
