Elaine looked at him through the mirror. He seemed unaffected by that.
"Don't worry. Please eat your food, I can handle this." She politely declined.
"I want us to eat together."
"You go ahead and start, Hayford. You're hungry. Come on!" She chuckled, taking the dryer from him. He had already picked it and was serious in helping her. "I'll be done in few minutes. Go ahead and start. Besides, I'm not so hungry."
Hayford hesitated a little before finally deciding to step back and allow her. But he didn't start eating. He kept his eyes on her as she dried her hair. Elaine noticed this from the mirror but decided not talk about it.
And he said she was stubborn. She wanted to roll her eyes.
"What did you make? Smells good." Elaine said, turning briefly to look at him before she focused on drying her hair. She guessed mushrooms were part but she couldn't really tell what he added.
