Twelve: Show me the first step now

My body freezes as I catch sight of Kian standing by a corner. My drunken brain tries to come up with an escape plan. I could walk right past him, head down and slip out the exit, or I could go out through a window. Those frosty blue eyes land on me, daring me to run. And me, ever the wiser, accepts the dare. I've never turned down a dare before, so I run.

I pushed past sweaty bodies as I tried to get away from the imposing male on my heel. Most girls would be running to him, but not drunk me. My heel breaks and I cry out, before discarding both heels. That made me stop, and before I could continue running, strong arms gripped my waist and I scream as Kian lifts me and straps me effortlessly on his shoulder, his muscled arm keeping me in place.

"Put me down! Put me down!".

He starts moving and my head is spinning. Not able to hold it in any longer, I hurl, drenching the littered floor in vomit.

This doesn't deter my determined husband one bit, as he exits the bar, walking towards a parked limo. Only my billionaire husband would bring a limo to kidnap his drunk wife. He opens the door and throws me in. I sit up, wiping my mouth clean with the back of my hand as I scoot away from him. He slides into the car beside me, slamming the door close. The car starts to move.

"I thought I told you that I don't want to see you in a club?".

"It was a bar".

"Doesn't matter. Why were you there?".

"I don't have to explain myself to you".

I think I'm sober now.

He bent forward, elbows resting on his knees. The sleeves of his shirt are rolled up to his forearms, the first two buttons of his shirt undone, allowing me a glimpse of his toned shirt. He pressed two thumbs to his forehead, no doubt tired of me.

"You don't know how scared I became when I came home and didn't see you. I called, but you had left your phone in the car".

"You don't have to act as if you care".

"I care about you, Farrah".

"Bullshit. How can you say you care about me, when not too long ago, you had your loofah, which had recently been between Caitlyn's legs on your skin?".

"Is that what she told you?".

I kept quiet. "I can't believe this. Caitlyn fed you crap and you fucking digested it? How could you?".

"Just tell me if it is true or not"

"It's not like my answer would change my mind."

"Does it mean it's true?".

"No dammit. I did see the loofah, but I didn't use it. I used yours instead".

I'm shocked for words. He used my loofah. What else could define intimacy?

"You're crazy. You go on creating rules like we shouldn't be intimate, and then you go on using my loofah?".

"Would you have loved it if I used mine?".

"No".

"Now that we have cleared that up, can you tell me why you were shedding tears over drinks at a bar?".

"I wasn't crying".

He snorts. "I know you Farrah. You were crying".

"Were, but not any longer".

His tone dropped to a softer one. "So what was it? Why were you crying?".

"Just drop it".

"The fuck I will!", his tone has risen.

"Stop it! Stop acting like you give two shits about me because you don't".

He narrowed his eyes at me. "Where is this coming from? Did Caitlyn say anything again to you because if she did, I swear I will…"

"Caitlyn didn't say anything", I cry out brushing away a tear. "I ran into your mother this today and she embarrassed me. She said all manner of mean things and told me that I will never be enough".

"Don't let her get to you, Farrah".

"She has already gotten to me Kian! She's right. I'm not and never will be enough for you. So I'm going to do the right thing and leave".

The car pulled to a stop and I jump out, stalking up to the front door before Kian could get to me. I had only taken a few steps forward when Kian pulls me back, slamming me against the car door, arms on either side of me.

"You're not leaving", he growled, as he nibbled on my lower lip.

"You can't force me to stay. Why can't you understand that I want to go?".

"Fuck it. Show me the first step now".
