Sister's Rivalry

My sister Kelly and I were late for school, we also missed the stupid bus. I hated it when the bus leaves when you get to the door. We didn't have time to take the next bus, so we had to run to school. Thank god, we made it in time before the late bell rang. We sat down in our seats and soon the teacher came in.

"Good morning everyone, please stand for the pledge," said our teacher Mrs. Banks

Everyone stood up and said the pledge "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

When we finished saying the pledge, we sat down.

Mrs. Bank said, "thank you, everybody, today there will be a new student coming from Kennedy high school."

She turns to the door, "You can come in now. Now everybody please say hello to our new transfer student."

As the student came into the room, everyone said, "Hello, nice to meet you."

The boy said, "Nice to meet all of you too, my name is Kenneth Zhou."

As the boy walked in, the girls behind me were saying "hey that boy is cute, I wonder if he has a girlfriend." "That is crazy; no one is cuter than Wesley, which is why he is my boyfriend." I thought that it was ridiculous for people to fall in love so easily.

Kenneth looked around the room nervously and when his eyes met mine, I felt like my face was starting to get warm.

"What the heck is going on with me?" thought Teresa

I realized that we were both staring at each other, and then his eyes went to Kelly who was also blushing. It was normal for her to blush since she has a maiden's heart, but it was rare for me to blush.

Kelly and I were both dazed by Kenneth. Mrs. Bank told Kenneth to take a seat. The only seat that was open was the seat next to me. I was kind of happy but when I looked at Kelly, she looked angry as if I had done something wrong.

"Hey, it's not my problem if there is a seat next to me rather than next to you." Teresa thought

Kelly passed a note to me when I looked at the note and read it, the note says," I think I have a crush on Kenneth. I know we just met but it feels like we were meant to be together. I know you probably think that it is just admiration but I really like Kenneth."

When I turned to Kelly I said, "what the, how can you like someone-" Kelly kicked me before I could finish my sentence. "Owe, that hurt you know"

Kelly said with a flushed face, "we will talk later about this okay."

When I looked up to Kenneth, I could tell why Kelly and all the other girls would say that he was cute. Kenneth turned towards us and asked, "hey aren't you guys my-" the bell rang cutting Kenneth from his question.
