Chapter 31: Nothing Personal

"You... you're not a companion of Jihan? Why are you attacking us?" Irmin asked. 

"Hm? And why does that matter?" 

"We're in the same group as him!" Selene, a bit shocked by the man's response, retorted. 

"I know." 

"Then…" 

"But you see... it's nothing personal... after all, we're all being tested here," Xu stared at the two women. "I'm not some kind of monster, so I'll give you a break." 

Wang planted both his axes in the ground. 

"Not that I think it will make much of a difference. A Berserker's only weapon is his own body," he mocked, raising his fists. 

Raising her shield and covering her mouth, Irmin whispered to Selene. 

"Listen, we don't need to defeat him, just get across the bridge. We'll sustain the battle for a bit and as soon as we find an opportunity…" 

"Hey!" Wang shouted, pointing to his ear. "I can hear what you're saying."
