When Jack comes back to his dorm, Theo is there making him food.
He breaks down as soon as he closes the door behind him, before he can say anything, shoulders shaking as he sobs, his back against the wall.
"Jack, what happened?" Theo hurries towards him, an arm around the younger's shoulders as he leads him to the couch.
"H-He woke up." Jack hiccups.
Theo sighs, wishing he knew how to make things better.
"How is he?" He asks in a small voice.
"He's good. He's free to go home tomorrow." Jack forces a smile through his tears. "This is what matters, right?"
"Aw, Jack." Theo hugs him, letting him rest his head on his shoulder as he cries.
"He hates me, Theo. And he should." Jack whimpers. "But I can't imagine my life without him. What am I supposed to do?"
Theo rocks him back and forth, his own chest filling with sorrow to see his best friend breaking like this.
