I break apart the plastic razor a smile coming onto my face.

She was my first love.

Aspen, not Carolina.

I remember the first time we met like it was yesterday.

When my eyes first landed on her it felt like a punch to the gut.

I was completely winded.

Her long brunette hair was resting on top of her head in a neat ponytail.

For a high school junior it was obvious that she spent extra time on her appearance compared to the other, more snooty girls around her.

Her posture was surprisingly stiff and straight.

It was as if she had been trained to sit that way for so long that it became an instinct.

Her black rimmed glasses were neatly resting against the bridge of her nose.

She was the only student in the entire class who wasn't yelling obscenities and meaningless conversation across the room at someone.

In fact she had a really thick book in her hands.
