New officer

He silently sipped his tea while looking at the photos of the victims. He had to admit the murderer indeed had some skill, five bodies placed at corners of the city discovered on the same day but not even single evidence has been found against him.

But the disturbing fact was the faces of the victims. But it didn't affect him much. The murderer might have done it to make them think in the wrong direction. But the main problem here was the dead constable.

Unlike others, he had no cut on his face, his face was painted black but that was it. No red paint on the eyes, no cut, nothing.

And on his body was found a single typed note.

It read-

'I am back again, let's see who kills the most.

-your well-wisher and partner '

So if he trusted his intuition there were now two killers in the city, not one. Obviously both as much as dangerous as they could be.

He picked his phone and called.

"Hello, it's Rohit. I want every detail about all the five victims. How fast can you send them?"

"Sir all the messages shall be mailed to you by tomorrow." a sweet female voice replied from the other end.

"Very well and thank you"

Rohit replied and ended the call. He then turned and left his room to visit the sites where the bodies were found.

'Calm down, Calm down, Calm down'

Asmita Mukherjee, the one who attended the call of Rohit just now was unable to calm herself.

She always dreamed to be with him.

Rohit Sehri was not an unknown name, as one of the most successful crime branch officers and owing to his young age he was quite famous in all the departments. She lost herself to him at their first meeting. But as Rohit was famous so was she. She was not a field officer but the name Asmita Mukherjee was as famous as Rohit if not more. As the youngest analysts and ethical hacker in the department and with her unparallel looks she quickly became a topic of discussion in the office.

She was still calming herself when her computer gave a notification sound.

An email had arrived.

She opened it and was flabbergasted.

Her request for fieldwork was accepted and her first assignment was in Ujjain, her partner in the case-Rohit Sehri.

Rohit was examining the area where Rakesh had found the body when his phone rang to make him aware of a new email.

He got the message of Asmita to be his partner in the case. He was not surprised,

In the end, he was the one who requested it.

When they first met he instantly knew she had fallen for him, it was not a new sight. Many girls wanted him, some for his money and fame others for his good looks.

But the problem at that time was that he had fallen for her as well. When he saw her he decided she will be his and only his. So after he got back to office and came to know that she had requested a field assignment he immediately asked the upper echelon to partner Asmita with him on the next case, which happens to be this one.
