She could feel his excitement, the genuineness, that pure feeling of enjoyment a loner gets when someone listens to his story.

She carefully observed his face, noting his genuine laughter when he described the things he enjoyed, like adventuring from one island to another and killing undead monsters here and there. She could sense his pride when he spoke of throwing Gustin's plan upside down, and she could feel the satisfaction he derived from cursing Cara.
