Chapter 2 Light Holy Dragon Martial Soul
The golden dragon pattern and the surrounding white mist swirled into streams of light, merging with the eggshell. From within, a vast and majestic dragon's roar echoed.
Roar!
The sound carried an innate majesty, resonating over Holy Soul Village like the proclamation of a king reigning over the world.
Except for Su Xiao and Tang San, the children in the room were so frightened that one of them burst into tears.
"This is Ah Xiao's martial soul?" Tang San murmured groggily.
Crack! Crack!
The eggshell split open slowly, revealing a golden-white divine dragon. Though small in size, its presence radiated an overwhelming aura that commanded respect.
The divine dragon swam gracefully around Su Xiao a few times before naturally merging into the space between his eyebrows. Another dragon's roar followed, and the faint image of the golden-white dragon loomed behind Su Xiao, exuding an aura of divinity.
"The top martial soul—Light Holy Dragon!" Su Xiao exhaled deeply as he retracted his martial spirit. The oppressive pressure in the room dissipated instantly.
Su Yuntao, who had been conducting the awakening ceremony, stared at Su Xiao in shock, his gaze now filled with awe.
"What's your name, kid?" Su Yuntao crouched slightly, gripping Su Xiao's shoulders tightly as if afraid he might vanish.
Su Xiao flinched and stepped back instinctively, replying with mild annoyance, "My name is Su Xiao, Master Deacon. And you're hurting me!"
Realizing his overenthusiasm, Su Yuntao quickly released his grip, looking embarrassed. "Su Xiao, would you be willing to study at Spirit Hall? Spirit Hall has the best teachers. With your talent, you'll undoubtedly become a powerful soul master!"
He hesitated before adding with growing excitement, "You might even become a Titled Douluo!"
Su Xiao smirked faintly but shook his head inwardly, thinking, 'As expected of Su Yuntao. Who are you underestimating? With this system, my goal is to become a god! As for Spirit Hall, it's not worth my time.'
He stepped aside, clearing the space for Tang San. "Sir Deacon, it's time for Xiao San to awaken his martial soul."
When Tang San's martial spirit turned out to be Blue Silver Grass, Su Yuntao couldn't hide his disappointment. However, Su Xiao noticed Tang San subtly clenching his left hand, faint streaks of black light seeping between his fingers.
"What? Another genius with full soul power?" Su Yuntao exclaimed in disbelief. He hadn't expected to find two children with full soul power in a remote village like this.
Unfortunately, he quickly dismissed Tang San's martial soul as useless. "Blue Silver Grass? What a pity…"
The awakening ceremony concluded, and Su Yuntao informed Village Chief Jack of the results. The elder was so ecstatic that he nearly jumped for joy.
"Two children with full innate soul power!" Old Jack exclaimed, beaming with pride. "And Ah Xiao even has the Light Holy Dragon martial soul!"
Overjoyed, Old Jack led Su Xiao and Tang San back to Tang Hao's blacksmith shop at the edge of the village. Before stepping inside, he called out, "Tang Hao, these two kids can become soul masters!"
Tang Hao's cold, rough voice answered from within, "Old Jack, you should leave now. Ah Xiao, Xiao San, come in."
Before leaving, Old Jack turned to Su Xiao and said earnestly, "There's only one work-study spot available in the village, so I've decided to give it to Xiao San. Don't think it's favoritism, Ah Xiao. With your martial soul and talent, you'll definitely pass the entrance exams and get recruited."
Su Xiao, expecting Tang Hao to reject the idea outright, was surprised when the man only let out a long sigh before resuming his work at the forge.
Later, in the back room, Tang Hao looked at the two boys solemnly. His voice was cold and direct.
"What martial souls have you awakened?"
Su Xiao responded first, "The Light Holy Dragon."
Tang San hesitated before replying, "…Blue Silver Grass. But I think there's another one."
