CHAPTER 5

PRE CANON 5(Chunin exams)

POV Tenten 

"So are you excited ?"

I asked Neji.

"..."

I forgot about the stick that is deep inside his ass ! Hyuga Neji is barely tolerable. He hated seals and by extent me. It didn't help that every time he challenged me he lost. Even in pure taijutsu. Those pure taijutsu matches aren't easy. Every time the victories I got was by a slight margin. And that's because of my superior speed. And that's what is the cause of animosity. Sure we can work together when needed. And our team work is pretty good. But as I said he barely tolerated me. And because of his destined ass talk, I too barely tolerated him. I know that he has a sad past. But that doesn't mean he can take it on others. 

As we continued our journey towards Suna, Guy sensei and Lee were pretty much yelling about youth. Both of them have gotten louder ever since Lee became the official apprentice under Guy. And not to mention their horrific yaoi-sunset-beach genjutsu. Even her natural immunity towards genjutsu was pretty much useless. It took us three days to reach Suna. There were only two teams participating in chunin exams. The other team was the team of Yakushi kabuto. 

After registration and some legal stuff, we entered the village of hidden sand. We then headed towards our designated inn.

After reaching the inn, I booked my own room . The standard staying expenses should be paid by the leaf. But If someone wants, then they can spend their money however they want. So I booked a high class room for myself. I offered my teammates the same treatment as well but they refused. So I decided to stay alone. After dinner Guy sensei gathered us in his room.

"Yosh ! The exam stars at 6 in morning. So best of luck. There will be 2 rounds at first. And I will meet you at the end of 2nd round. So good luck !" Guy sensei greeted us.

"Oh ! Before we go, take these." I handed over two paper tags to Neji and Lee. "These are telepathy comunication seals. We can talk in our mind with each other. Just push chakra into it and it will work as both speaker and listener. And if you stopped the flow of chakra, then the connection will cut off. You can put it anywhere in your body. But I will recommend it on your chest or near neck."

"These are great Tenten, but what are we gonna do with this ?" Lee asked.

"In case the test was about gathering information. Or in case we get separated ." Neji answered calmly. The guy is really smart.

"Yes, information gathering is it's main purpose." I admited. "I wanted to make 4 but I didn't have time so I could only make three. And it's just a prototype."

"It's okay ! Tenten ! This seal will be very youthful. Once we returned to our Village, you can show it to Hokage sama. By the way, is there any specific distance of range ?" Guy sensei asked me.

"Yes, it's currently 5 miles. But I will work on it once this is over. " I replied.

"Yosh ! Focus on the exam my youthful genins !"

The test started early in the morning. The first test was an obstacle race in the desert. Where you have to find pass flags and bring them back to the base. The time limit was three hours. It was a short of elimination round. The desert was full of traps. So it wasn't that easy. Not to mention there are only ten flags. It's going to be survival test.

As soon as the test started, we dashed in. After five minutes of running I felt my telepathy comunication seal being activated.

'500 metres to the left.' Neji's voice rang out in my head. And we went to the location. Sure enough there was a flag. After checking the symbol on it we made a beeline towards the finish line. Only 15 minutes have passed.

'Ambush ahead. 600 metres.' Again Neji told us.

'can we avoid them ?' I asked.

'...Yes.' 

'Let's avoid them. I want our team to finish this first. And if we fight, it might get other's attention.'

'Alright ! Let's avoid them.'

We reached at the finish line inonly twenty one minutes. And we are the first to reach the place. As time passed, more teams started coming. By the end of time nine teams have passed the test.

Two teams from konoha, three teams from suna, one from taki, two teams from ame and one team from iwa. 

I was surprised that iwa even sent a genin team to the test. 

As soon as the teams gathered around, the proctor of the second exam told us about the second round of the chunin exams.

"As the order of Arrival, each team will be given a point. The team in the last will get 1 point and the team after that will get two points. All the way upto the first team which will get 9 points. You will be sent to an underground maze with your flag which represents your points. You have seven hours. And you need atleast 5 points to pass the test. But before we start the test, you all have to sign to these papers." As the jonin explained, one participant asked" what are those for ?"

"In case of your death, Suna isn't responsible."

After signing the undertakings, we were given our flag with number 9 written on it. There was a sealing formula inscribed on it as well.

"I think we should play this safe. Neji, you can find a suitable place to hide, and I can put up a barrier seal to protect our flag. Or I can simply seal it away. Lee will be our scout while I prepare our defence."

"Agreed. We are the primary target after all." Neji agreed so as Lee.

The second round was easier than last round. Neji found a safe place in the maze, where we can hide and run if necessary. While I was preparing the traps and barrier seal, no team came knocking at us. And surprisingly in the entire exam, the only team came was a team from ame which was dealt with my traps. When the time ended I unsealed the flag. And from the summoning circle, Guy sensei was summoned.

"CONGRATULATIONS !!!My youthful genins ! I belived in you. You have successfully cleared the second round of the chunin exams !"
