11 An Open Book

What happened? 

Wasn't she fine just now?

"Are you feeling bad, kitty? Should I take you to see a doctor?" Jun Shang asked the Black Cat anxiously as he rubbed her back.

"Meow." Yun Xi nodded her head to answer the guy vaguely as she asked him not to.

Because the reason she was trembling wasn't her weakness or sickness, but the thing he discussed just now.

The worlds of two books somehow overlapped with each other.  At least Yun Xi was sure of it.

The Apocalypse Evolution was not something to be taken lightly in the first place. What's more, now that two world of different books got mixed with each other, Yun Xi knew whatever the outcome would be, it won't be something good!

Jun Shang also seemed to have understood what was going on, so he didn't ask her any more questions as he continued to pat her back as a comfort as he signaled others to leave.

The guys left the meeting room reluctantly as they continued to look back.

After complaining in their heads, all of them left the room to start their preparation. 

"Little one, just now did you realize what we discussed about?" Jun Shang asked in a soft voice as he ran his fingers through the curly black furs of the kitten.

"Meow." <I know, I understood everything just now.>

"Then, what do you think about the situation?"

"Meow, meow." <The situation is dire, more than you think.>

"Is that so? Then, we have to take the right measurements for whatever is coming ahead. Will you help us, kitten?"

"If we work together, then maybe, we can defeat the upcoming calamity, don't you think so, little one?" Jun Shang smiled as he said the words, which contained deep meanings that one can tell just by looking at his eyes.

Yun Xi stared at him in awe as she saw the wonderful man in front of her eyes. Despite being a scum who abandoned his wife, a siscon with a sister complex and a pervert who treats little girls shamelessly, Jun Shang was actually a great man.

'Well, it won't hurt to help him a little, right?'

Yun Xi, this girl, was truly blessed to have such a great husband. What she lacked was the luck to hold on to him.

Yun Xi thought as she jumped off of his lap as she went towards the door, then she looked back at the guy who was still looking at her with hope.

"Meow, meow." <Alright, alright. I'll help you, don't give me that face. It makes me feel goosebumps.>

A faint smile appeared on Jun Shang's eyes as he stood up, he knew by now that she had agreed to his request. 

It was truly a miracle how he was able to decipher her words despite being a human, but he was going to use it anyway.

It was a lowly move which made him feel like he was taking advantage of the innocent kitten, but for humanity, it was something necessary. 

"Thanks, little one." Jun Shang whispered as he walked towards the door and picked the fluffy cat up again and opened the door.

This was not being kind… it was simply…

Every soldier had already gathered by the time they arrived. 

Yun Xi tried to take a peek at what the surrounding looked like, as expected, the whole area was bustling with people and all of them looked like soldiers. 

The novel did mention him and his family being associated with the army, but she didn't expect to come here in such a short moment of her arrival in this city.

It was truly lucky!

She could touch the armor and the guns, laptop and desktop once again!

Jun Shang didn't let her touch his laptop as he thought that she would destroy it completely, so she has been a little mad with him since then.

But now she could finally get the freedom she wants!

Yun Xi was thinking to jump down and get familiar with the soldiers, maybe, she can even borrow some items from them in the guise of playing around!

"What do you think you are doing?" a sharp and boring voice from behind poured water on all her plans.

"Meow." <Nothing, I was just looking around a little.>

Yun Xi feigned innocence and ignorance as she looked back at him with cute eyes. But she wasn't able to get out of his fine radar of lie detecting.

"No matter how much you try to look innocent, you can't get me. Quit your stupid thoughts and follow me!" Jun Shang said with a strict voice as he gave his hand towards her, clearly commanding her to go on his hand and do as he says.

'This bastard, how could he even say what she is thinking? Does he have some kind of mind reading ability or what?' she glared at Jun Shang as she thought. 

"What now? You are badmouthing me again? Looks like you need some discipline so you will think straight." Jun Shang knew what she was thinking just by looking at her face.

"Meow, meow!" <No need, no need. I'm coming!>

Yun Xi quickly got into his arms as she followed him like a good and obedient girl, Jun Shang only chuckled as he took his bag up and started to walk.

'She is like an open book who isn't the best at hiding her facial expression. Of course I know what she is thinking!'

'But I won't say it to her.' Jun Shang laughed at his own thoughts as he walked forward. 

As Yun Xi was going along with Jun Shang, she observed the camp around curiously as she saw the soldiers who were divided in groups also looking back at her.
