New Cloths

"Oh my! Is little Xue helping you with shopping?"

Aunt wang said with enthusiasm.

"Yes, she's been a great help."

Niu replied.

"So, what would you like to buy today?"

"We want some dried fruit." Xue replied.

Xue has been helping Niu in shopping for around half an hour. To Niu's surprise Xue is a great help in both remembering items and calculating. They bought the dried fruits from aunt Wang and went on their way.

"I didn't know your memory was so good, Xue."

Xue didn't respond, but she concluded that she needed to tone down her arithmetic skills. This world didn't have any kind of nano tech that could enhance people's arithmetic power.

Although she could do this kind of math in just few seconds she was holding back previously. Looks like even that is too much for this world.

"Ok, then what do we have next?"

Niu said as she browsed through her memory.

"Ah, yes! We need some cloths for the little ones." She looked at Xue and said enthusiastically, "That also includes you as we, Xue."

"Cloths for me?" Xue wasn't sure how to respond to this.

The cloths here are pretty low quality. It's made of jute like material which was not comfortable to were at all. Probably the only reason why people wore these are because of the thickness of these cloths.

They also didn't have much colour variations. Green, Blue, Red and black are the only colour that you could find. It was expensive to buy cloths with another colour.

Aside from that as a non-human Xue didn't have much interest in clothing anyway.

But it seems sister Niu was a little excited about choosing cloths for Xue.

After reaching the cloths vendor Niu first took a look at the girls' clothing. She even looked at some expensive clothing's. She spent a lot of time carefully selecting cloths for Xue. She chose three in total.

"Umm, sister Niu, isn't this one a little too expensive?" Xue found that one of the cloths were of a little pinkish red. Although it's not as expensive as the different brightly coloured ones it's still not cheap as the others.

"This one is my gift for you. I am paying for that one."

"Uh?" Xue was surprised that someone was willing to spend this much money for her. Although, these are not the most expensive cloths, for an orphan child, like sister Niu its still really taxing.

"Do you like it?"

"I think it's pretty stupid to spend so much on a single cloth." Xue gave out her honest opinion.

"Hehe, guess I'm really stupid then."

Xue couldn't find any words after that. They roamed the streets of the town some more before Niu asked, "Would you like to try it on?"

"Huh?"

"The cloths I bought you, would you like to try them on?" Niu said with a sparkle in her eyes.

Xue didn't say anything and nodded.

"Okay then, lets borrow aunt wangs place to try it out."

They made their way to aunt wangs house.

"Oh my! New cloths for Little Xue? I would love to see that too!" aunt wang also exclaimed with joy.

Niu took Xue inside the house and proceeded to dress her up with the new cloths.

It was a grey shirt like cloth with a brown jacked on top and a deep green cape like clothing which Xue hasn't seen before. Some decorative ribbons and stone hung from around the waist. It wasn't really much from a modern standard. But it was a really good piece of cloth from the ancient standards.

Although, Xue wasn't really moved by the fact that Niu bought her the new cloths she did felt an unfamiliar tingling in her mind that she couldn't quietly grasp.

"Done." As Xue was deep in thought a voice woke her up.

It seems the dress up was finished.

"It looks great." Niu clapped her hand and hopped around Xue in excitement.

"Let's show it to aunt wang." Niu said in excitement

Xue also nodded and they proceeded to make it out of the hut.

But when Niu open the door her pupils constricted.
