Chapter 65 - Path of no Return

Draven Blackthorn POV. 

However, every action has consequences. As I delved deeper into the path of malice to alleviate my wife's pain, the very essence of my being began to change. The deeper I went, the more tainted I became.

While Vaelora's pain lessened, a new torment arose. I could feel her near me, but I couldn't see, hear, or communicate with her. It was as if a thick fog separated us, leaving us trapped in painful solitude.

Realizing the danger of this corruption, I distanced myself from our son, Theron. I didn't want this malevolence to taint him or to draw him into this cursed existence. To prepare him for a life without me and to protect himself from whatever darkness might emerge from my dealings, I subjected him to rigorous training. 

I hoped that, in arming him with skills and resilience, he would find his own path and be able to protect himself.
