Chapter three

_For the sake of my company, I am undertaking all of this. Otherwise, I would not be following that man_

Nathalia courageously stated to herself. Under normal circumstances, she would never have considered becoming a business partner with someone like him.

Assistant Lu trailed happily behind the two bosses, unaware that the nightmare had not yet begun. Li's presence was not just a mere rumor; he exerted immense pressure on others. The elevator, with space for about fifteen more people, felt full due to his presence.

As the elevator moved from one floor to another, the light signal indicated their destination: the top floor of the building. The CEO made it quite clear that he did not wish to have any physical contact with anyone. He stood at least two meters away from the others, appearing self-absorbed and handsome simultaneously.

"Isn't he attractive, baby girl?" Lu whispered into Nathalia's ear, making sure not to be noticed by the man with silvery white hair. She simply tugged her sleeve, feigning indifference. "Keep quiet, you chatterbox," Nathalia whispered back.

Mr. Li stood tall and had a posture as rigid as a Jade statue, towering over Nathalia. If they were to be a couple one day, their kiss would undoubtedly resemble those from fantasy storybooks.

Finally, the elevator arrived at their destination. The doors opened, revealing a different environment painted in striking black and white contrast. It was devoid of colors, yet strangely beautiful. Mr. Li stepped out of the elevator, followed by Secretary Liang and Assistant Lu.

Nathalia attempted to exit as well but received an electric shock.

"What is happening?" she inquired, fear creeping up within her. It was highly unusual for an elevator to randomly release electric shocks. She tried once more to exit, but the shocks persisted. The sound of water rushing from above echoed within the elevator.

Miss Hu was terrified to her core. The more she attempted to leave, the stronger the electric shocks became. She dared not make another move. "What is going on?" she asked again, even Secretary Liang, who was part of the company staff, was clueless.

The sound of water grew increasingly louder. Just as Nathalia was about to lift her gaze upward, a loud splash resonated. Her entire body became drenched in white paint, droplets trickling from her hair, chin, brows, and pointed nose.

"Oh my gosh, baby girl!" Lu Min screamed, covering his mouth with both hands in shock.

The attention of everyone shifted towards the Male CEO, who displayed a sly grin and emitted a menacing presence. Even his eyes formed a crescent shape, mirroring a smile directed at her. She fiercely clenched her hands, determined to suppress her frustration. This time, she smoothly exited the elevator without encountering any issues. Paint marked her footprints, and her bag had been left behind in the elevator. "Mr. Li, this behavior has crossed the line," she expressed. Attempting to remove the paint from her face using her hands, all the makeup she had painstakingly applied disappeared alongside the paint. "Miss Hu, please refrain from causing any further disturbances," Secretary Liang commanded. "Why should I? Your boss is an ignorant wealthy man lacking in manners," she retorted. The entirety of the incidents was projected onto a large screen in the company's main lobby. Every person within the lobby ceased their activities and attentively observed the dramatic scene. Some deemed their boss to be excessively rude, while others believed she received what she deserved.

"I certainly would not want to be in her position."

"I feel pity for her. It is your fault; couldn't you have researched prior to attending the business meeting? Who in Jiang city isn't aware of boss Li's aversion to red?"
