Wisteria

It was June of 1845 as a little girl Wisteria Jones age 12 played outside. She was named after the wisteria vine that her mother loved so much that stretched around the yard. You see Wisteria was a very clumsy little girl one day she tripped over the wisteria vine in her front yard and her head fell onto the side of a boulder sitting on the outside of the vine. Her mother had walked to the garden to fetch some potatoes, and her father was out working. She laid there and bled to death. When her mother came home she looked at her daughter's corpse picked it up threw it in a wheel barrow and dumped it in the Jones Creek behind the house. They say that to this day if a little 12 year old girl goes to the old Jones estate alone she will reach the same fate and her body will be found in the lake."

I looked up at my big sister as she finished the story. I was shaking in my boots. You see my name is Lilly, I am 12 years old. I played with the bottom of my blue and white dress. Brittney looked at me and said, "The Jones estate is the third house down surrounded by the old broken fence. I dare you to spend 15 minutes there and then come home. If you do that I will give you 3 king size Hershey bars." I jumped up and ran down the road.

I was so excited I could almost taste the chocolate my mouth watered as I imagined the chocolate melting on my tongue. I got close to the fence and heard laughing on the inside. "Lilly come play with me!" I thought it was another little girl wanting me to play with her. So I ran in.

"Hi it's me Lilly." Another little girl came running around the corner she wore a bonnet that covered the top of her blonde curls. She wore a pair of old rusty shoes with buckles and carried a doll made of twigs and grass. I looked at the name stitched on the bonnet and nearly swallowed my tongue. It read Wisteria. "Follow me into the stars, swim with me in the creek, follow and play, follow and play, follow and play with me." The song she sang had me in a trance my body was moving on its own. I walked around to the moss covered creek. I waded into the water and turned to look at her. Her face flickered and showed a bloody girl covered in moss.

She picked up a huge rock and chunked it at my head. I fell into darkness.
