Factions Abound: To All Curious Glades

Faction-Wide Announcement

Concerning The Attack

From Faction Leader Thom

Evidence gathered by the Vice-Leader and first hand accounts reported by many of you have led us to say for certain that Hades Collective was behind the attack on our Faction Office. However, Mouseion is not going to get directly involved as the PvP was done within a PvP-zone.

What they have committed to do is review the item that was used to create the PvP-zone to make sure that it did not take advantage of a system error to overlay a PvP-zone and a safe zone. If there was any error exploited, Hades Collective would be forced to return all stolen or looted items and pay remuneration for the attack itself.

Regardless of the item, the Faction Levy that Hades Collective was given in response to their actions in the last Faction War is going to be doubled. Mouseion's stance, even though the PvP appears as fair, the action is considered a form of bullying and circumventing the Faction War System. So that is cool.

Due to that, Mouseion has made it explicitly clear that if any member of the Curious Glades were to take direct action against Hades Collective, it would be reprimanded in the same way. As the Faction Leader, I am asking you to trust the process on this. I know that several of you lost rare and mythical loot when our Coffer was emptied.

Some of those items cannot be replaced and a lot of them cannot be replaced without great effort. Specifically, think of the Pure Elemental Core that Merrick lost and the Giant's Knife that Beetlebar lost. Those were special drops. I understand the frustration. We all lost gear, resources, and funds. I promise that the Curious Glades, as a Faction, will reimburse you.

To do so, I have enrolled us in another Faction War. The Spoils of War will all go directly to reimbursing the personal losses first and then to refilling the Faction Coffer. Due to the nature of the Faction War's chance draw, there was no way to know exactly what we would get but I believe that our luck was high.

Our next Faction War will take place in four weeks *game-time*. That is plenty of time to prepare and we will need to use every moment of it. We will be going up against the current Number One Faction, Leaf Scale Dragon, in a Command & Control War.

The Vice-Leader, Commissioner, Quartermaster, and I will each be forming groups to train in specific tasks for the War. Merrick will be training our spellcasting-classes in War Magic and Siege Spells. Beetlebar will be training our Rogue-like classes for War Spycraft and Siege Logistics. Muster will be training our support classes for War Forging and Siege Craft. Finally, I will be training all remaining members in War Strategy and Siege Weaponry.

Depending on the outcome of the training, Merrick and I have decided to introduce four new Faction Roles to complete our Officer's Roster. Those roles will be: Battle Mage, Spy Master, Master Craftsman, and Knight Captain.

All Faction Members will be required to participate. The next message to go out will contain specific assignments and schedules for each. It will come from our Faction Commissioner, Beetlebar.

That is all for now.

Remember, no revenge.

In an alleyway on the far side of Als Atbor from the Curious Glades' Faction Office, the system menu illuminated the scene of a gruesome ambush. Five dead members of Hades Collective were turning into motes of light and hovering up into the sky, their fallen corpses completely looted. Alric closed the system menu as he walked out of the alleyway. "Too late for that."

The Thief headed for the next spot on his list. Three down, one to go. The information broker had been expensive, especially to ensure that no one would know that Alric was the one who bought the information or was planning these attacks. It was worth it though.

The Faction Coffer's loot had been deposited already, but the members themselves were still loaded down with their own gear that Alric happily looted. At the end of the day, while the rest of the Curious Glades were getting ready for war, Alric was offloading several crates worth of looted gear to a trustworthy fence.
