The Path of Light

When he is aware, he wake up in a pathway of light. The path have multiple branches and on the end of each branch, he can see a glimpse of a world of its own.

"Step one, please choose the world you want to go."

A serene and sweet voice like that of an innocent and pure maiden is heard directly in his mind....

"What? Who are you?"

"Master, I am a part of Akashic Record, an Akashic Consciousness which now reside in your mind and will help and serve you from now on."

"Akashic Record? The so called existence which have endless knowledge about everything in the past, present and future?"

"Oh Master, you flatter us too much~ We only know what we know, you know~?"

A pleasant giggle sounding in his mind, calming his mind and soothing his heart. Then, he continue his questioning after a while.

"Ah, you may know this already, my name is Ranata. What's your name? How may I call you?"

"Name? The me right now don't have it? How about you give me a name, Master?"

"How about Celeste? I will call you Celes for short."

"It's good. Thanks for the name, Master."

"Celes, what is this place? Earlier you ask me to choose a world I want to go too."

"This place is an interdimensional path crossing to the various worlds. From here, you can look at and choose any world you want to go."

"So it's a path to the otherworlds!? Yes! Is my dream come true!? Oh, Thank you God!"

(A trivia for the readers: In order to fulfill his dreams, Ranata has tried many methods. From something simple like throwing a coin to every well and fountains he see, wishing upon shooting star and praying before eating an apple or pomegranate, to something outrageous like fasting for 40 days like a certain prophet in a major religion in his previous world, or even visiting a hundred temple and praying to the residing Gods there straight for a hundred days. Well, you could say that his obsession and tenacity for his dream is way too abnornal.)

"Yes, like Master say, your dream to adventure in the other world will come true. Now then, let us not waste anymore time and pick the world carefully, since this is a rare occurance which may won't happen again to you in thousands of years."

"Oh, ok, ok, let's see the worlds before we choose it"

Then, running quickly along the path of light, Ranata comes over and see the glimpse of various worlds at the end of each branch while Celes informing him about the general situation of that world to help him choose the world he will go to.

"Hmmm.... A world with sci-fi setting and generally occupied with bio-mechanic monsters. Not fitting my taste too much. Pass...."

"A world of cultivation like in chinese novels.... As ruthless as I am, I doubt I can live in that dog eat dog world with the harsh law of jungle for long. Pass..."

"A world where other people like me is summoned oftenly and made to be either heroes or slaves? Pass...."

"A desolate primitive world only filled with beasts and monsters? No humanoid civilization? How can I find a lover like that!? Absolutely No!!!!"

And thus began his first quest to find the world he would go to, running around all over the path of light to find a suitable world for him. With passion, tenacity, endurance and patience....
