Joining The Adventurer Guild

Opening the door of the Adventurer Guild, the trio comes forward to the counter. It seems everyone here has heard the news. The moment they entered the building, everyone's gazes are gathered on them. No one obstruct their way to the counter on the left corner of the office, although their eyes never let go of them from their sight.

Some people who have lined up in front of the counter to take their turns even step aside to give the a way to them, so they can go straight to the counter without waiting. Understanding the situation, Ranata nod his head and give a smile to those people queued up in the counter, followed by Althea and Lumina who also smiles to them. He then said his thanks to the man who was queuing up for making way to him so he can register without waiting. Hearing his voice which is soft and pleasant, which pierce their ears and their heart alike, the mans who was queued up let out beaming smiles and basking in happiness while other men in the Guild looks at them with envious eyes as they receive the attention from the beauty and the woman scoffing at them in disdain for being an easy - peasy over another person who is more beautiful than them.

After they have arrived in front of the counter, a pretty girl in her early twenties who is the clerk let out a beaming smile and greets them.

"Good day. How may I help you?" – The Clerk

"We want to register him as an Adventurer." – Althea

"So you want to register him? Sure, please wait .... Eh...? Wait..., HIM!?" - Clerk

Noticing something that is not right, the clerk can't help but raised her voice. Of course, her scream is heard by everyone in the building right now. The crowd immediately burst in bewilderment. Hushed whispers and talks can be heard here and there.

"What's wrong? Is there any problem about me?"

Smiling brightly, Ranata innocently asked the clerk. Of course he know the cause of their bewilderment. In fact, it's for stirring this situation that he choose to transform into a beautiful TRAP.

"Eh..., nothing.... It's justt.... Are you a man, or a woman?" – The Clerk

"I am one hundred percent MAN. What? Is there something strange?"

Continuing to play as a fool, Ranata talk slowly (and cheerfully) while putting pressure on each word, making sure that everyone in this building can hear his word clearly.

"Wh.... What!?" – Man A

"He is a Man?" – Man B

"Heavens! Are you playing a trick on me?" – Man C

"Is this an ordeal sent by Fate? It's already enough for us to cope with that two Goddess's beauty. Why would another being come to trample on our pride? Moreover, It's a MAN!?" – Woman A

"Such a vicious evil being! He is even more beautiful than us womans! A sin! It's so sinful!" – Woman B

The crowd burst out and become noisy. Everyone, Ladies and Gentleman, are equally stumped. The man is in stupor while the women in hysteria. Especially the people queued up in the counter who receives their smile and his thanks earlier. They felt like their heart is trampled by vicious beasts stampede mercilessly. Their head which felt like it has going through the atmosphere earlier felt like it has been crushing down like a fallen meteor right now. Exploding and shattering everything inside their mental world.

"Can I register now?" - Ranata

After enjoying the spectacle in front of his eyes and laughing full of satisfaction in his heart, Ranata nonchalantly talk with the clerk to resume her work.

"Ah, wait.... Here is your paper. Use this pen and please fill this form and put your signature on this talisman. Also, you need to pay five silver coins as membership fee" - Clerk

The clerk hands him a registration form and a yellow paper talisman drawn in red, then give him a crimson feather pen. Filling the form only with his name, current age and gender, he put his signature on the yellow paper talisman. He found out that this feather pen is a magic item which draw his blood and used it as an ink. Convenient. He doesn't need to prick his finger to make a blood contract on the talisman. He only need to write with this pen. No pain, only a bit numbing feeling that recover in seconds. Finished, he give back the papers and pay 5 silver coins to the clerk.

"Here, is this enough?" – Ranata

"Yes... So it's true.... He is a male..." – Clerk

Hearing the word of confirmation from the clerk after she read the registration form, heavy sigh can be heard from everyone.

"It's true.... He is a man..." – Man D

"What have I been thinking earlier? Ah, so dirty! So he is a man!?" – Man E

"Did you ravished him in your mind? Hahaha, serves you right, dirty old man." – Man F

"How can this be? How can there be a man even more beautiful than us...." – Woman C

"No. If I compare them, isn't he even more beautiful than The Two Goddess....? – Woman D

"There is really nothing that is fair under the Heaven.... Alas..., How can I life anymore?" – Woman E

And there are many more complaints, disappointments, despairs, jealousy and envies that can be heard here and there in this Adventurer Guild office building....

"I have confirmed your form. Here is your Guild Member Card." – Clerk

Going to the back office and returned with the card and the previous talisman in her hand, she give the card to Ranata and stamped the talisman with official seal. The talisman paper is then burned and turned to become a strike of light which flew to his chest. Celes give him information regarding this.

[The talisman works as additional information form. It tied with the card so if you lose the card it will be returned back to you in minutes, so it can prevent other people misusing your guild card and your identity. It also function as tracker when you take on quests to prove that you really cleared the quests provided by the Guild.] – Celeste

[Proof of completion? But I heard we only need to give the monster or beast core of the subjugation target to prove that we have completed the quest.] - Ranata

[Yes, that's true. But what about other quests such as reconnaisance mission or other subtle quest? The information we provided will be backed by the talisman to prove our completion on the mission. Beside, that Talisman also function as a tracker to show that we are still alive and can help the Guild to find and contact us if they need our help specifically like in a private request and whatnot. In case we are dying in action, the Guild will also be immediately notified by the disappearance of the talisman and they can make necessary arrangements.] – Celeste

[Oh, so it's like that.] – Ranata

[In case that our card is destroyed, we can issue a new card from the data provided by the talisman so that we can retain our rank without the need to start again from the scratch.] - Celeste

While Ranata and Celes are chatting in his mind, the clerk give introduction and general guidance about the Adventurer Guild. The rank of adventurer is graded by star. The more their number, the higher the rank. The lowest is 1-star, which is his current rank since he is just a beginner and the highest rank is 9-star. Adventurer can access the Quests up to 1 rank above them. Rank can be raised from successfully performing 10 quests within the same rank or 5 quests of the higher rank in consecutive order without any failure. In other word, to rise to 2-star, he will need to succeed on 10 1-star quests or 5 2-star quests consecutively. There is also some condition that can promote you to higher rank immediately, like winning a Guild Tournament, performing meritorious deed, or passing the examination test.

There are various quests that can be taken. From herb gathering, monster subjugation, beast hunting, to finding treasure or missing person. Some quests like herb gathering and monster subjugation can be repeated endlessly as long as the target and demands still exists. The clerk then told him about how to take on the quests and giving proof its completion.
