Shinobi of the Black Blade

Survive, adapt and overcome in the world of shinobis while having a template that gives Jin the full edge lord experience. Jin Kurama the black sheep of the Kurama clan will fall into obscurity or carve out his own path in the harsh environment of the shinobi world. Mc has anger issues. [Rated R-18 for violence, swear language and Gore.] (The progress of this story will heavily depend on the authors mood swings, so save up your powerstones for other stories that you like.) [Also tone down with the power stones on this story. I don't know when I'm going to loose interest and finished this story in the most butchered way possible. I repeat: this story is something I write because I felt like it and nothing else.]

[Jin's PoV]

Instead of using my trusty double edged sword, I decided to use a reinforced club wrapped in bandages. I didn't want to accidentally cripple or kill my fellow konoha cutthroats. As a student of the white fang of konoha, I didn't wish to smother his name with the blood of comrades on my hands. Since I believe my actions reflect on his image at this point in time where I am mainly known as the disciple of the white fang.

Walking down into the area, I did a few practice swings to get a feel for the light weighted weapon. Due to all the grinding I did that would have crippled any other ninja, my physical prowess had already exceeded that of a chūnin by a margin.

My opponent is a spiky brown haired dude that is wearing this face guard like tobirama, with blue mesh shirt and wields a tanto. By the looks of it, he seems to be a tobirama cosplayer.

"What's with the club? Aren't you a kenjutsu user?" The cosplayer asked if he is trying to taunt me.

"Don't mind the details, I just don't want to send my fellow Konoha ninja permanently to the hospital." I said casually if talking about the weather. I was for some reason oddly calm despite being usually moody and easily agitated.

"Damn you, you're looking down on me or something?" He got provoked instead.

"Not at all, I'm just looking down on the unimpressive imitation that failed spectacularly at looking like lord second. It's almost like you are trying to make the great senju tobirama look like a laughingstock." I said in distain.

"You bastard, I'll make you regret those words!" he barked out.

I shrugged. "You can try, but I doubt it when you are so riled up." I was surprisingly calm.

"Begin!" The proctor announced before leaping back.

The tobirama wanna be started to weave through hand seals at an average pace, which I find to be utterly disappointing. I could have ran up to him and smacked him silly at any moment, but I decided to give him some courtesy and hold back. Even if he is being a jerk in my eyes, I didn't feel like making his defeat too humiliating for him. Yet.

Just as he finished, he spewed out a jet of water towards me which I simply sidestepped effortlessly. 'What else can I expect from a tobirama wannabe?' I mused to myself and ducked under the stream that honed on to me like a slow moving whip.

Sidestepping another assault of the beam of water I didn't go on the offence straight away like I usually do. Instead I decided to stay on the defense to see if he had some more tricks up his sleeve to get a better picture of the cosplayer's strength.

After seeing that I dodged his jutsu effortlessly, he grabbed out a bunch of kunais and started to ran towards me, no doubt to throw them at me in mid range making dodging them difficult. For a noob this might be impressive and a solid strategy, but we are god damned Genins about to be chūnins.

Putting my hands behind my back I made three hand signs. The moment he launched his barrage of kunais, I already finished the substitution jutsu and was five meters to his left. Without doing much, I already wasted some of his chakra and a handful of kunais.

I think I've seen enough.

In not even half a second, I appeared next to him. Not giving this cheap cosplayer much time to retaliate, I swung my reinforced club down on his left forearm that was about to draw the short sword strapped to his back. For but a millisecond I considered drawing out the fight, but decided against it.

*Crack!*

"Flood*

With a sickening sound of bone breaking, followed by the sound of a body hitting the ground a few meters further away the indoor arena was quiet for a moment before my "opponent" started to let out sounds of agony. I think I also crack one or two of his ribs. He was cradling his broken arm,

seems to be in enough pain to be unable to get up. That one strike also broke my reinforced makeshift weapon.

"..."

I feel disappointed. If I would have used a real sword, he would be one arm less and his guts having a breather of some fresh air by now.

Looking towards the proctor I asked. "Think he can still continue? I rather not send him to the hospital longer than necessary." I was unbothered by the pain the cosplayer was in and unsealed another reinforced club. Lazily I gave it a few swings.

I really didn't know why the proctor was hesitating, but a moment later he declared my victory since my opponent isn't getting up or chose to stay down. I don't know and I don't care.

I thought about giving him some advice, but I doubt he would listen to what I have to say.

Before and during the fight, I was calm and emotionally detached from it all, but now I started to feel irritated again. Like someone that just ate something passable as food and began to have a appetite afterwards.

[Hiruzen's inner monologue]

'Impressive' once again, Jin had surpassed my expectations for him. He might even be on the level of minato in talent if I had to guess. The level of skill he displayed against Hiroya was from the very beginning one sided. He was able to take down his opponent with minimum waste of chakra and only displayed his capability of using the substitution jutsu and extraordinary strength.

Most of all, he held back during this fight. If Jin had used a real sword instead of a wooden club, no doubt Hiroya would have perished by now.

In this one fight alone Jin Kurama already possesses the mindset of a seasoned chūnin, if he keeps up this kind of performance in the Final exams, then his rise to chūnin is guaranteed. Sakumo really did a great job training the next generation.

This kind of talent definitely shouldn't fall in the hands of Danzo. I would have to make a few contingencies after this.

I noticed Jin getting close to his female teammate Kobeni Uchiha and whispered something in her ear. The act was nothing out of the ordinary, but what surprised me was her reaction after hearing what Jin had said to her.

It's not every day I witness a pair of one tomoe sharingan evolve into the two tomoe . I didn't know what Jin had told Kobeni for her to have such an reaction. All I know is that must be something that effected her to the core and triggered something.
