The labyrinth of Asphoros deepened as they ventured further into the heart of the city. The oppressive energy of the Source grew stronger, thickening the air and twisting the ruins around them into darkened passageways. Morgana could feel the ancient magic pressing in on her mind, a constant whisper at the edge of her thoughts, tempting her to turn back, to abandon the quest.
"We're close now," Lyana whispered, her eyes wide as she scanned the shifting shadows. "I can feel it."
Kirin stayed close to Morgana, his sword drawn and ready. The city had proven it would throw everything it had at them, but he had no doubt that worse awaited them deeper in. "Stay alert," he murmured. "There could be more of those guardians, or worse."
Captain Rowan, ever the pragmatist, led the way through the maze of corridors. Her eyes were sharp, watching for traps or signs of movement. "We'll get through this," she said, her tone firm. "No turning back now."
