Dr. Zunnie Bai had just finished a session with a patient when trouble came knocking. It was the day before the party at Alex's company and she was glad Sanua would be coming with Hunter.
Even though her best friend had not informed her about her growing crush on Hunter Brown, Zunnie knew Sanua felt something for him. She was only waiting for her friend to tell her about her secret, so she could tease her. She picked up her phone to call San but stopped when she heard a knock on the door.
"Dr. Bai you have a visitor."
Zunnie wrinkled her brow and wondered who the person might be.
"Who is it?" She asked her secretary.
"I'm not sure, the receptionist said the person went to school with you and they knew who you were."
"Ahh, could it be a classmate? Send her up." She replied when she heard the person happened to be a classmate.
She smiled as she waited for the person to walk in as she remembered their school's graduating motto; "Help our alumni and create a network for excellence."
"Dr. Bai?" A young lady who looked about Zunnie's age walked in.
"Hello, how can I help you today?"
"Well, you can't help me. I'm here to let you off with a warning today." The young lady sneered.
"Do I know you?" Zunnie was astonished but the revelation.
"No, you don't, but I've heard a lot about you. We went to the same high school. I also heard that you steal other women's men and use your family's fortune to claim them. My visit today is just a warning since I don't like you I won't stay here long. Stop messing with other women's men!"
"I'm glad you're aware that it's my family's money and not anyone else's. Last time I checked, my personal choices are mine. Now, if you'll excuse me I have a job do. Please leave before I call the security to throw you out." Zunnie was starting to get annoyed with these random women showing up at her workplace to pester her.
"Who do you think you are, I've known you since high school, so I know what you've been doing. Carson Maule and Alexander Zi are taken. Back off them." Tami Rougé gritted her teeth in annoyance.
What Tami said puzzled Zunnie. She knew she had been naughty during her high school days, but she had no idea there was someone who hated her this much because of the way she acted. She had very little friends in school and avoided misunderstandings. She and Alex were married, and he belonged to her and this was the second time she had heard the name, Carson Maule.
As she listened, it was difficult to grasp the concept of why this girl she had never met or seen despised her to the extent that years later she had the audacity to show up at her workplace with all that hate.
Zunnie sighed within. She was frustrated that someone who she had never laid eyes on could abhor her for so long. She wondered whether to teach Tami Rougé a moral lesson or call security. She decided to call her security but made sure to speak before he escorted that person out.
"The art of accomplishing something we put our minds to is not farfetched. The problem is some people get too conceited when they taste the good life, success, power. You're one of those people. Who are you to assume you know me when you haven't really accomplished anything worth praising? I️ can brag but what can you do? Break down relationships or show up to threaten others because things didn't go the way you planned. I don't know about you but let me say this, the door you opened shut a long time ago. Go open another one; by the way, make sure it has your name on it. Now get out if you show up again I will call the cops and send you to jail for harassment and slander."
Hearing Zunnie mention she would call the cops and send her to jail Tami lost her determination. Natalia had not informed her that Zunnie would be like this.
She mumbled a few curses which Zunnie did not hear.
Tami had only agreed because Talia said she would bring her as her plus one to the party Alexander Zi would be hosting on Saturday.
Fuming, Tami stomped out of the office.
Zunnie sighed and swung her chair around to gaze up at the orange sky. The sun was setting, and it looked magnificent.
It had been a while since she felt this annoyed and couldn't understand how ridiculous some women acted when they were in love. She smiled and thanked the heavens she was nothing compared to them and picked up her phone to dialed Sanua.
"Well, if it isn't Zunnie boo." A cheerful voice answered the phone.
"Do you have to say this every time I call?" Zunnie rolled her eyes and grinned at the introduction San said whenever she answered her calls.
"If I don't who else would make you feel this special hmm? Want to have dinner tonight? I'm free." Sanua replied.
"Sounds good. Text me the details. Oh, and plan for later in the evening, I want to go home to shower first."
"Sure, will see you tonight," Sanua said and ended the call.
