111 The Goat and the Fox

She never once imagined that Alex would build her a house, let alone surprise her like this. Everyone was there, even his grandparents. Seeing them standing before her, she was reminded of how fortunate she was to be able to see them again. Tears of joy slowly began streaming down her face as she tightly hugged every one of them.

Lastly, she hugged her father. He seemed to have been getting better but there were more wrinkles on his face compared to how he had looked before their accident.

"Papa, it's good to see you; Even though I saw you yesterday, I'm happy to see you again today."

"Pumpkin, I'm glad you're here…really glad. Come everyone let's eat."

"Zunnie sis, I missed you." Nyo held her free hand and followed next to her.

She couldn't help admiring how much he'd grown during the few months. He was taller and even his chubby cheeks were thinner.

Pleased with the surprise, she turned to look at Alex who was walking behind ere and mouthed, "thank you husband."

He m gave her his warmest smile in return.

Alex was like her fairy godmother, watching over and keeping her happy. She smiled; her heart overflowing with unconditional love for him. She had no idea she was in a coma but now that she was surrounded by all the people she loved and cared about, Zunnie was glad she had woken up.

----------

It was four in the evening and everyone had gone home, and she and Alex were left alone. As she glanced at his back, wanted to hold him and kiss him and tell him how much she loved him and appreciated all of him. Even his sexiness. She giggled as the memories of their hospital love making flashed before her eyes.

'I never imagined I would be this naughty.' She covered her forehead with her palm in sweet despair.

Zunnie walked to him and hugged him from behind.

"Darling, have I told you lately that I love you? I'm happy to be married to you." Her hot breath sieved though Alex white dress shirt.

"You whispered you loved me earlier, but I forgot what you said." He turned to face her.

"Darling you just said I told you, but you forgot? Does that even happen." She creased her brow, amused at his cunningness.

"Ha-ha, I love you more Zunnie Bai. Thank you for waking up. Our family and friends were so happy today. It was a beautiful picture."

"Yea, it was wonderful. Now take me on a tour of our house. I've been waiting all day." She pulled him behind her and walked toward the stairs.

"Slow down honey. The house is not going anywhere" Alex called out to her.

She was amid replying to him but stopped when she saw him looking down at his phone.

"Answer it, I'll wait." She urged him assuming it was probably work related.

"It's my men I sent after Tami Rougé. I'll put it on speaker, stay here."

Hearing Tami' name made Zunnie's heart skip a beat. She unintentionally squeezed Alex hand when a woman's voice came over the phone.

"Boss Zi, we found her. We're on our way to the airport now. We should be back in Una City late tomorrow."

"Alright, good job Cassie. Take her to the security base. Don't question her yet. Call me again when you guys make it there safely. Make sure to feed her and treat her well." Alex commanded Cassie.

Zunnie had been listening quietly. The moment Alex ended the call she spoke calmly.

"Why would you tell them to treat her well. She deserves to starve to death for what she did."

"Don't worry honey, it's part of my plan. We know she had someone else helping her. I want her to trust me. Have you heard of the story of the goat and the fox?

"No…"

"A fox fell into a deep well from which he could not get out. There was a goat passing by, and he asked the fox what he was doing down there. The fox said, 'Oh, have you not heard?' 'There is going to be a great drought, so I jumped down here to be sure to have water by me. Why don't you come down too?' The Goat thought well of this advice and jumped down into the well. When he did that, the Fox immediately jumped on its back. He climbed onto the goat's long horns and jumped up to the edge of the well. 'Good-bye, friend,' said the fox, 'if you had brains equal to the number of hairs in your beard you would not have jumped down without a way back up.' So, the significance of the story is to look before you jump."

Zunnie listened attentively whilst he spoke. the story was a good one but she didn't understand what it meant. Before she could ask, Alex continued.

"However, I'm the fox and Tami the goat. If I show her kindness she will be blinded by it and tell us who else was involved. Carson mentioned that she isn't very clever. There must be someone leading her. This is the person I want. Tami Rougé is just a pawn."

Zunnie's eyes grew wide. She had no idea that Tami was just someone's pawn. Either Talia was a very good actress or someone else wanted her dead.

"Alright, what you said makes sense, but who do you think is behind this? Could it be Talia or someone else?"

"I only know of one person who is capable of causing harm to the women around me."
