Huh?
"Eunmi"
That's… my name?
Someone's calling my name?
"Eunmi wake up!" I heard the voice of a young girl giggling cheerfully.
What…
"Mother is waiting, we shouldn't be too late" A young girl appeared and took my hands gently.
This person, could it possibly be who I am thinking of...?
My adopted younger sister, Chungcha, kept speaking "Eunmi? Why do you throw that gaze at me? Did you miss me that much?"
Hearing a familiar voice startled me.
But something isn't right. Didn't I die? How am I able to see such things?
After I died, or at least, assumed to, I was lost in the middle of nowhere.
Then… a light struck me and I found myself here.
Looking at the setting, this should be my parents house's garden.
I started to have my doubts. What truly happened to me after all?
On one hand, if I didn't die, what the hell happened to me all this time?
But on the other hand, if I did die, how am I able to be in this place?
Wait a moment…
My parents house had already been bought years ago. And my younger sister, ChungCha, should be at least 23 this year.
Then, is this a dream?
But isn't it a fact that spirits can't "dream"…?
'…f*ck, this is like an endless cycle of questions.'
I cleared my thoughts and started to recall the stories that old folks used to speak of back when I was alive.
Of course, at that time, no one believed them. Everyone thought that these folks have finally gone crazy.
…and as for me?
"Eunmi quickly! We don't have time"
"…who sent you?"
I loved crazy.
"What do you mean? Stop joking around—"
I can't believe I almost fell for it. The lamest trick in the book.
"You're a siren, aren't you?" I asked and took a step forward while she stepped back.
"What do you mean? What's a siren?" Though she spoke as if it had nothing to do with her, she spoke more calmly than before and her eyes turned ruthless for a split-second before adjusting her attitude back to the way it was before.
"Ha..." I scoffed, was she still pretending?
"Lets go to mother now" She suddenly gripped my hand and forcefully attempted to drag me.
With a chilly smile plastered over my face, I shook my hand away from her violently, making her turn her attention to me.
I may not have been a SS fighter back when I was alive.
I may have not been a highly intelligent individual too.
But,
"Sirens belong to the water, right? Do you want me to send you there? Or perhaps, send you to another place?"
I still was a businesswoman, and an experienced one at that.
"Y-You…!" The siren's eyes shook as she stepped away from me.
"I had heard that sirens had taken a lot of souls, wouldn't it be only fair to collect the debt?" I said in an oppressive tone, making the monster tremble.
Of course, I can't harm a siren. I don't have the capabilities to do that.
But, a successful businesswoman ought to know how to get to people.
"Hah! I know you are just bluffing, I don't know how you are emitting aura pressure, but that doesn't mean you can take me too lightly!" Although the siren had said this with confidence, she herself broke out in cold sweat.
This reminds me a lot of the time when I used to manage loan sharks.
"Just tell me what you know, and I'll spare you" I looked down on the siren and took a step towards her.
This is strange, did I get taller?
Maybe it's just my imagination…?
"…You can't-" before she cold continue her sentence, her neck was sliced off. I swiftly moved back before I could harm myself.
My eyes shook when seeing the bloody corpse of the siren. It was a first time I had seen a murder right before me.
What the actual hell?
If what happened was correct, then that means that I am alive, somehow.
At first I thought that I was at sea, and was in danger by the hands of a "siren". A mythical creature who is said to take form as a beautiful girl and attract men at ships and delude them with their beautiful voices so that their ships would crash against the shore of an abandoned island.
Of course, I didn't believe it but I had to make sure. Now that I had confirmed it. I knew I was in a whole different place.
At this point, no matter how hard I wrack my brains figure it out, I would never know for sure what was happening or my current situation. But at the same time, I knew more than anything that my first priority is to move to a safer place.
"Your majesty! Is that you?" I was too caught up seeing the bloody corpse and snapped out of it when I heard a cry from the culprit who killed the siren.
Your majesty? There are royalty involved?
Knowing this fact, I didn't dare lift my head to see the murderer.
This is getting more complicated than before.
I took a deep breath and exhaled.
All I have to do is get to a safer place.
And the only way to do that is probably to confront this person.
Since he called out to me thinking I was his superior, there is one thing to do.
"You have disrupted my business"
