"Let's meet up later today after I'm done with my shift so we can go somewhere, just me and you. What do you say?" Steven questioned as they stood in front of her room.

She nodded at him with a smile.

"I'd love that. I've got to go now, see you later" Steven nodded with a smile and as soon as he walked away, she let out a sigh. That was nerve wracking for some reason.

She walked into her room and gently closed the door behind her before walking over to her bed and taking a seat.

What was she supposed to do now? Read a book? Normally, at this kind of time, she'd be finding a way to sneak and visit Xavier?

Speaking of him, she wondered if he ever thought about her as much as she did.

"I do, little wolf" She shrieked in shock when she heard his voice in her head.

"What the… are you listening to my thoughts again?" Goosebumps rose up on her skin when he let out a husky laugh.

"I can read your thoughts only when you think of me, which is almost Every time" She rolled her eyes. It seemed he got a big head after she told him she liked him.

"I've always known you liked me, I didn't need you to say anything" Her eyes widened then her cheeks suddenly turned red.

"Then why didn't you stop me and why didn't you drive me away?" She questioned.

"I remember I always tried to drive away but you never wanted to leave and I got used to your presence, Little wolf. I've never gotten used to someone's presence as much as yours" Her heart literally stopped beating. Was he flirting with her?

"What… what are you doing?" He chuckled.

"What do you mean?"

"I said I wanted to get over you, Xavier but if you keep talking to me like that then…"

"What if I don't want you getting over me, little wolf?" She froze as her eyes turned wide. What the heck did he just say?

"Wh… why?" She questioned after a while then bit her lip, waiting for his answer.

"Because I miss having you by my side and if you forget about me, you'll stop coming to visit and I'd be bored again" A smile appeared at his side of her lips but she immediately shook it away.

"You and I will never work out, Xavier"

"But have we ever tried?" She gasped and almost fell down from her bed when he said that but before she could ask what he meant, she couldn't feel his presence in her head anymore. He just couldn't drop such a bombshell on her and disappear!

At that moment, she wanted to march up to his Cave and demand for answers but she didn't. She had a feeling he was just messing with her head and she wasn't going to fall for it. She was a wolf and he was a demigod. That combination was an abomination on its own.

She sighed then laid down on her bed and grabbed her book. She had somewhat of a date later with Steven and she was going to Enjoy it no matter what. She wasn't even going to think of Xavier.

Paxton tapped Xavier's fist that was wrapped tightly around his neck.

"Stop… I can't breath" He managed to say but Xavier just tightened his hand and pressed him further into the wall.

"Why the fuck did you make me say that? She's going to start having other ideas" Xavier boomed then let go of Paxton's neck who immediately fell to the ground coughing.

"She needs to think you like her for her to help you out of here, Xavier" Paxton uttered in between coughs. Xavier sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair.

"But I don't like her that way and I can pretend I do. She's right, I and her will never work out but now, you've made it seem like I think we can. Everyday you make me question why I keep you alive" Paxton grinned as he slowly stood up from the ground.

"Listen to me. If she thinks you like her, she's going to help you out. When you're finally free, you can reveal your true feelings to her. Come on, you're good at manipulating so why are you hesitating with Aurora?" Xavier glared at him then grunted as he sat back down on the ground.

Paxton was right. He was used to doing anything just to get what he wanted so why was he hesitating with Aurora?

"Next time, don't fucking make me say anything I don't want to" Paxton nodded as he rubbed his neck.

"I've learnt my lesson" He moved over and sat down close to Xavier.

"So you say she summons you? Do you know how?" Xavier scowled.

"If I knew, I wouldn't have told you. I have a quest for you. Go back and bring me the book of Zeus. I need to see something"

It was late at night when Steven came knocking on Aurora's door.

"Can I come in?" He uttered as he knocked.

"Yes" He opened the door and smiled when he saw her already dressed up and ready to go. He glanced down at her long evening gown with a smile.

"You look breathtaking as always" Her cheeks immediately turned red then she walked over to him.

"Thank you. Shall we leave?" Steven nodded, then took her hand and led her out of the room.

"Where are we going exactly?" She questioned as they walked out of the house.

"We are going for an evening picnic. I know they're supposed to be during the day but I had a lot to do today so we'll have an evening picnic" She smiled at him.

"I don't mind. I prefer the night because no one will stare at me" Steven shook his head with serious intent in his eyes.

"You shine brighter at night, Aurora so I'm sure everyone still stares at you" She bit her lip then stared down at her feet to hide her blush. Gosh, he was good with words.

Just then, the memory of her conversation with Xavier earlier flashed through her head which made her sigh. She wondered if he was serious about what he said earlier and couldn't help but wish he was here so she'd hear what he had to say.

"You don't have to wish anymore, little wolf and he's wrong, you shine no matter the time of the day"...
