Chapter 1

3rd Person POV

Now Andrew counts the coins he earned from selling bottles and cans he got from the trash he passed. Even if it is dirty, he can't do anything because he doesn't know what job he will be hired for.

An old man approached him while wondering what he could do with his money.

He looked up and put his coins in his pocket. "Why? Do you need anything, old man?" he asked the old man.

The old man smiled at him and showed him a bag with a waiver of lazada. "I will ask you to do something," the old man said.

Tss, what does he think? He's a fool? He will not obey the old man especially if he has nothing to gain.

Andrew shook his head. "I still have something important to do, I don't have time for you," Andrew said coldly.

He was about to turn around when a bell rang in his ear when the old man said something related to the money he probably needed.

"Is that more important than money? I'm sure you need money don't you? Can you give up the grace?" He turned to the man just to see with his two eyes that the man had smirked at him.

"What are you going to hire me for? As long as you give me money, we will get along without any problem, nothing is free at the moment, I am not following without a replacement," he said seriously.

Because these days you can't just be too kind to anyone because if you are too kind you will fall to the ground, especially if no one will help you to get up.

The old man laughed softly and tapped his cheek lighty. "I like you Boy, huh? You're smart but go ahead, I'll give you money as long as you can just give it to this address."

From the back of the object he was holding he placed it in front so he could see the front of it again.

That thing is so perfect and you can actually mistake a parcel to just be delivered to a simple person. But he knew it wasn't just a parcel. But he needs money so he will do what it tells him to do.

"Deal, how much will you give?" he asked.

The man grinned even more. It first put that thing in a bag, a small backpack before it was given to him. Then he handed a handbag to him.

"What is this?" he asked and even his eyes were asking as well.

"Check it to find out," the old man said smiling

He followed the man. He opened the handbag he was holding and when he opened the zipper, his red lips parted when his eyes saw what was inside the handbag.

There was a lot of money inside the handbag and it was full of blue money. (One thousand in Philippines) He took a piece of a thousand and looked at it carefully to see if it was real.

He knew the fake from the real one so he knew it was real and the old man in front of him was not fooling him. The man laughed as he glanced at the blue money.

"You're really smart Boy, I'm amazed at you," the man said to him, smiling.

He arranged himself from standing and returned the blue money to the handbag. "Oh how boy? I'll be the first? Deliver that safely, it shouldn't be opened until you get to that address, do we understand each other?" The man's face became serious.

He nodded quietly. It also nodded and patted his shoulder before it turned away from him. When he could no longer see the man, he even looked at his hands.

His fist clenched. "For the money," Andrew whispered to himself.

He turned around and thought he would just take the bus to make his job easier. The young man knew the address and was easy to get to, especially if the road was not crowded.

He was waiting for the bus and was already boarding when a bus stopped in front of him. He dropped twenty pesos in a box as payment for his ride on the bus and then he entered the lodging to sit down. He could not find a seat until his eyes landed on the end of the bus and there he saw a single seat.

He walked over there carefully and the bus started up after he sat down. He leaned back in his chair but soon he heard a sob.

He frowned and looked to his side and there he saw a girl crying. The child crouched in its seat while biting a finger. He thinks she is eight years old.

He looked at those next to them and in front but they did not care about the said child.

He winced his lips as her sob got louder until she went crying out loud. She was taken aback when she heard various comments for the child.

"What's that, shut up your Sister, I'm sleeping!" Disgusted said the person next to him.

"But—"

"Shut up, I'll throw it in the trash, her noise is— argh!"

He bit his own lip so hard and bent down and looked at the girl beside him.

He let out a sigh.

"Hey," he called the child.

She turned to him with teary eyes. He was stunned when he saw its face, even as a child it was beautiful.

"W-why?" she asked while sobbing.

"A-are you okay?" He didn’t know why he was sweating right now and he seemed nervous.

What is happening to him? He's just talking to a kid so why can he be like this! He didn't know the girl so he didn't know why he would be like this.

"Y-yeah I'm okay, I'm just sad," said the girl sadly. It is no longer crying but it is hiccuping.

"What are you doing here? Where are your parents?" he asked seriously.

Where are its parents? She was too young to ride the bus alone. He didn't know what to do when she cried again.

"Hey, stop crying," he said softly.

"I can't stop, I don't have parents anymore," the child said while crying.

He was stunned again by what the girl said. Then it would have no parents. "T-then, what are you doing here?"

"I rode here because I don't want to go to my parents' siblings because they are bad," she said.

He was even more surprised by what she said.

“It’s dangerous to ride alone especially if you don’t know where you’re going, please go home,” he said seriously.

It shook its head as it cried.

He let out a sigh.

What is he going to do now?

“But I can’t afford to go to my parents’ siblings," she said.

He looked out the bus window and was alarmed to see that he was already in the area where he was going. "Just around the corner!" He was in a hurry to get up when the bus he was riding in stopped and he got off in a daze.

But Andrew didn't realize that the girl had come down with him.

He let out a sigh and was about to walk when someone grabbed the shirt he was wearing. He frowned and looked down only to be surprised that the girl he was talking to on the bus clung to him.

"What the— What are you doing here? Why did you come with me?" he asked.

He looked at the bus and saw that it had left. "I'll come with you," said the girl.

His system was shocked. "What? You can't come with me!" he exclaimed.

He was shocked when the child began to cry again. He frowned and knelt before the girl so that their faces were level.

"You have to go home, because I can't take you with me, I can't feed you," he said.

The child looked at him sadly. "But—"

"Just like that, I'll just take you to your house," he said.

Afraid it shook its head, and took his hand and begged its eyes to look at him. He felt sorry for the child. "Please, don't give me to them."

"You really can't come with me, they will sue me when I bring you especially when you're young, then I'm just poor, even me I can't feed myself three times a day," He explained to the girl so she could understand the life he had.

"I don't care, just, I don't want to go home, they are bad."

"It's just like that. " He looked into the girl's eyes and smiled.

"I promise I'll come back and pick you up, I just have something important to take care of, you're not allowed to come with me now."

"Promise? Will you come back to me soon?"

He smiled again. "Yes, I promise."

Although there was no certainty of his promise, that was all he said to make her agree to go home to them. After he delivered his work he returned the girl to where she lived. Fortunately, she was wearing an ID.
