Lance stayed silent for a long time. He didn't want to answer Madeline because he wasn't sure of his feelings. 

Madeline made it sound like a big deal, as if it were a ride-or-die situation. 

She made it as if she was ready to get married, have children, and grow old together.

But what about him?

Lance wasn't sure if he could stay with one woman for that long. 

Unlike his father, who was never a playboy, or like his big brother, who devoted his love to this one woman he just met, Lance was far more adventurous and wild. 

Could he keep this feeling for a long time if he said yes to Madeline's offer?

But if he said no to Madeline's offer and kept her as a business tool, then could he bear seeing her being embraced and touched by another man? 

He already spent a night with her and realized how much of a deadly seductress Madeline could be.
