Audrey Graham
Passengers on the flight to London are asked to begin take-off.
I took my bag and left. New city, new life, new friendships. Everything I wanted to avoid. But unfortunately, life doesn't turn out the way you plan. There's always going to be something you don't expect, and there's always going to be that "something" when you really don't expect it.
I've been living in Denver for as long as I can remember, but that's going to change from now.
I'm an orphan. My parents died in a car accident. It was new year, and they were going to pick me up from the place where I was partying. They collided head-on with a truck. They lost their lives at the scene. It's been a month. My grandparents, of course, blame me.
And you know what? They're right. If I'd been celebrating with the family that day, nothing would have happened. I can't rewind time. Unfortunately. I could if I could, but I can't.
My friends moved away from me, just when I needed them the most, and my grandparents wouldn't listen to me. I know it's not good, but I wanted to get rid of my old life. So I decided to leave not only the city, but also the country. That's how I made my choice for London.

After a nearly 20-hour journey, I'm finally here in London. I've already picked up my bags and headed out to find the taxi driver I ordered here.
After almost half an hour of searching, I found him with a sign in his hand with my name on it. I felt like a celebrity.
- Good afternoon. I'm Audrey Graham! - I stretched my hand politely.
- Good afternoon, Miss. I'm Josh. - he shaked my hand. - Let me take your bags. While I put them in the car, sit in it.
- Alright, thank you. - I said it and I sat in.
After he got in, he headed to the hotel where I was going to stay. Hopefully not for long.
I already have an appointment for a job interview in two days. I'm a stylist. Didn't I tell you? Gucci is looking for a new one. Someone who has what young people today are looking for. I don't know what that means, don't ask. It was on the advertising page.
I hope I get the job so I can get the money as soon as possible so I can buy a small apartment. Even if I don't buy at least rent one.
England are surprisingly cheap. I'm not saying it's cheap, but it's not expensive. That's the middle price category. It would be so nice if it all came together. I don't want to be homeless...
- Here we are, Miss. - Josh turned back.
- Oh, that's great. Thank you!
- Can I help you carry your bags up there, or are you doing well? - he asked.
I was surprised what not to say. Not all taxi drivers ask that. Just give them the money and that's it. They don't care about the rest.
- I'd really appreciate that.
We took out the bags and went to the hotel. I was greeted at the reception by a middle-aged lady. She was really nice. As soon as I registered, I got the room key and we left.
Fifth floor, room 258. As soon as we got up, we hung up my bags and paid the cabbie. Of course I tipped him. He wished me well and left.
The room was really cozy. As soon as you got in, there was a little hallway where you could put your coat and shoes in.
The bathroom opened from the hallway. It had a large bathtub and a shower cabin, with a sink and toilet.
Also in the lobby opened a small kitchen. That was really small. There was a little fridge, gas stove and cupboards and that was it.
The bedroom opened in the kitchen. As soon as I saw it, my chin fell off. A huge double bed was placed in the middle with a night-time closet on both sides. Across from the branch was a huge TV and a small armchair. By the bed, there was a two-door wardrobe. And on the other side of the bed, instead of the wall, there was a huge glass. There was a remote control that you could use to close it in and out.
And there was even a small balcony for the room. There was a round table with two chairs.
And the view. Sir. God. You could see the giant wheel, Big Ben and all that notable stuff. It was beautiful, really.
I pretty much unpacked my clothes and went to sort out the rest of my stuff.
My car's going to be here tonight, 'cause they can only get that by ferry. I haven't seen my baby in, like, three weeks.
I had so much to do to get out here so I could just go. I thought it would be easier, but no.
They'll bring it to the hotel tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m., sign a piece of paper, and that's it. I'm looking forward to it.
Today is February 10th. Four days and Valentine's Day. Which I'm living as a single woman this year. My ex broke up with me as soon as he found out what happened to my parents. He gave no reason why he just took off. But it doesn't matter.
I was going to go out and see the city today, but I've been so tired of this long journey, I'm going to leave it for tomorrow.
I did my toiletries and went to bed.
