Leaving the Palace

The first thing I do when I wake up is to prepare my luggage. I took a bath and ready myself for a new life I'm about to experience. I'm a little bit nervous but excitement is overflowing. I didn't bother taking a look at myself in the mirror because I'm sure my looks are still the same. Well, let me describe myself to you guys, I'm Axzel Flinst Helius 20 years old. I have dark brown hair and fair skin. Ocean blue eyes and 6'0 feet tall. I'm the third child of the Helius Family. And yes, you're right I'm a Prince. Though I'm different from other boys, my family never let me feel that I don't belong to them. They warmly accept and embrace my whole being. And I gradually accept and love myself.

Right now, my family is waiting downstairs for my departure. I've decided to live outside the palace. I want to experience living like a normal life. I'm curious if other people will accept me. But nevertheless, I don't care about their opinion.

"Axzel, son, are you really sure about your decision?" My mother asked as soon as I descended from the stairs. Her eyes are filled with worry. I sighed and warmly smiled at them. I hugged her tightly and said a few words to comfort her.

"Mom, I am certain. And besides I want to experience being independent. I don't want to rely always on you and father. Please trust your son. " She nodded, understanding my words. I turn to my father. He gave me a stern look and never talked. I know my father doesn't agree with me but I begged him and eventually he agreed.

"Dad? Will you not hug me, before I leave?"  I opened my arms waiting for his hug but he scoffed and turned his head away. I laughed at his childish action. Without saying a word I hugged him tightly. He did not return the hug but he pats my back.

"Remember our condition Axzel." He whispered. It was my turn to scoff at him. "Yeah right." I rolled my eyes.

"You asshole, make sure that you'll take care of yourself outside alright? Or else I'll beat you up." My older sister said.

"Almira watch your mouth!" My mother scolded her but she just rolled her eyes. My two siblings which are Alzer and Alaine are not here to bid me good bye because they lived in another country and called me last night to remind me and give me some tips.

"Axzel dear, if you need help don't hesitate to call me okay?" I said yes and hugged the two of them. It was time for my departure and I bid them one by one goodbye. My mother was crying nonstop like I'll be gone forever while I leave. They coaxed her and cheered her up.

The trip was 2 hours and 30 minutes. The beautiful scenery outside the palace amazed me. It's my first time coming out. Mr. Dave our driver explained to me the different buildings and places while he was driving. And I'm listening attentively trying to take note of all of them. Soon, we arrived at the airport. No one has ever seen my face so, they don't recognize my face. And I am glad. I get out of the car and sit in the waiting area. Then I boarded the plane. My teacher explained and taught me everything and I'm really grateful that I will not look like a country bumpkin. It's not my first time riding a plane and I'm used to it. After 3 hours we finally landed. I picked my luggage and waited for the old lady before me to leave the plane. One of the passengers accidentally pushed the old lady and was going to fall, fortunately I supported her and she didn't fall.

I looked at him angrily. "Fucking watch your steps."

The other passengers at the back also cursed and gave him an unpleasant look. He  did not look back and continued walking. I shook my head and asked the old lady if she was alright. Luckily she was fine. Then everything went back to normal.

As I exited the airport I immediately hailed a cab and another 40 minutes of travel going to my apartment. My sister arranged for me an apartment near the university so that I won't have a problem driving to my school.

I was busy looking outside the window when the car suddenly stopped. My head bumped against the window and I groaned from the pain.

"Sir I'm sorry, are you alright?" The driver asked me with concern.

"Y-yes, I'm fine. What happened?" I asked him as I rubbed my head. He looked outside the car and pointed at something. There was a woman and a man, a couple I guess seems like they are arguing in the middle of the road. What the hell? Are they out of their minds?

Manong driver yelled at them to get out of the way but they didn't hear him and continued fighting. I frustratedly sighed. I'm tired and I fucking need to rest. These idiots don't know they're causing a lot of trouble. Many cars also beeped at them but they just ignored them. Jesus!

A police officer approached them and brought them to the sidewalk, the couple kept on fighting even though the police officer told them to calm down and settle their problem in the police station. Soon, the road is good to go. I arrived at my apartment and good thing the driver was kind, he helped me bring my other luggage to my apartment door. I gave him a tip, at first he refused but because I'm good at talking with people I convinced him to accept it.

"This is it Axzel. You can do this man." I mumble to myself.

I opened the door and roamed my eyes around the room. It's beautiful inside, simple yet elegant. My sister really wants me to feel comfortable when I'm away. I smiled and happiness rose inside of me. I feel excited for my first day of school.

I can do this.
