Something isn’t right. I know that from looking at what Dark Eclipse is doing in the woods around our pack lands. If they want to attack us, why didn’t they do it last night while most of us were at the ball?
“I don’t think they’re planning to attack us,” I say to the team that is on the reconnaissance mission with me. Kimber, Don, and Oscar are still off on their own, and I am talking to the others.
“Why do you say that?” Eli asks me.
“Because… it doesn’t make sense. They seem to be going around us. To the mountains.” The mountains go around our pack territory on the west and north and then come back into our land just a bit on the northern border, but it’s so far from our village, most of the time, we don’t even patrol there.
“What could they possibly want in the mountains?” Lynn, another one of the omegas that is with me asks.
“I have no idea,” I admit. “As far as I know, there’s nothing of value up there.”
