Chapter 12: Stoked

After I take the dress off and carefully hang it up in anticipation of the ball, I decide I should go look and see if there is anything I can do to help prepare for the ball, so I head down to the event center where pack members have been working in shifts for days to get things ready.
I did some work earlier on, but mostly it’s the older pack members who are doing the work. They want it to be a surprise for the younger people, especially now that the ball is so close. Still, as the Beta-to-be I feel like I should see if there’s anything I can do to help. It doesn’t hurt for the pack to see me as a helpful person who wants to lend a hand where I can.
The door is propped open so that people moving things in and out don’t have to pause to open it. I glance inside and see that the decorations are coming along nicely. The planning committee decided to go with a red and white theme. It looks nice, and I think my dress will go well with it.
