Unexpected visitors

We have successfully reached Akin's table but my mind is still busy contemplating whether what happened is real or not.

Rain elbowed me secretly because of my spacing out. I plastered a timid smile on the inquiring eyes focused on me. His group of friends are big.

Akin's expanse unintentionally covered my view of his friends, so I am left to see just his figure in front of me. One of his friends firmly tapped him on the back.

"Are you okay?" he asked me, his eyes prying on me.

I just nodded at him because I suddenly felt shrinking with the way he seems to possessively tower over me. I traced his neck, his adams apple, his lips before reaching his eyes.

"I have... to return this to you," I answered.

I am just about to remove his coat on my body but he halted my movements by firmly placing his hand on my shoulder.

I thought he is just busy stopping me from removing the coat but his following silence and expression looks like it is not just about it.

He suddenly looked grim and harsh.

I traced his line of vision and saw him glaring at the unfamiliar man I have just seen earlier.

The man smiled mockingly at him.

'Fool'.

That's what I caught on his lips before his eyes found mine again.

I held my breath when I saw how crticially, his eyes changed its color to red again. Small opening of the mouth and the sharp fangs proudly peak out.

I couldn't believe it!

I gripped Akin for help but him repeatedly clenching his jaw is what I noticed.

And what I saw next is something that made my body shiver.

I can't believe my eyes when I literally saw how his white pupils blacken, all of them are black! His gentle aura is replaced by wickedness I cannot contain. I felt burned looking at him... being near him... touching him...

I shakingly removed my hold on him. What is this?

What am I seeing?!

Without permission and with a hasty decision, I forcefully pulled the still socializing Rain away. Fast that he couldn't even say goodbye to them. I do not care if they'll be gossiping about how worst my attitude is. All I know is we have to get out of here! And why are they not seeing these?!

We are already on the dark path again and this time I couldn't even open a flashlight because my nervousness and panic of all the things I just witnessed is materializing like a roaring storm!

"What's up with you!" Rain rebelled on my hold, and because I am shaking nonstop he has successfully removed himself from my grip.

His eyes then flew to my shaking hands and my heaving chest. His brows furrowed at my appearance.

"Are you okay?" he immediately asked and held me by my shoulders to calm me from shaking.

With trembling voice, I stared at his concerned eyes. "We have to go Rain. Out of here… please. I saw them…"

"You saw what? Are you fine? Girl!" he exclaimed and my fear has gotten more intense when I saw how Akin suddenly appeared behind him!

His fangs are out and I feel like I do not know him anymore. His eyes… they are only dangerously black!

"Rain! Let's go!" I shouted in panic, but Rain only followed my eyes.

He turned his back and saw what's behind him. His eyes immediately widen at the sight. My eyes is already watering and I felt stuck in my position.

Will he kill me? Us?

I can't die.

We can't die.

Something snapped on my back and I couldn't help myself but to froze when the unfamiliar man earlier suddenly appeared beside me. A strong scent attacked my nose and the sound of his lips, stretching for a smirk reached my ears. His calloused hand is placed on my shoulders, which is now bare because my running has displaced the coat I am wearing.

I closed my eyes when he suddenly breathed and whispered in my ear.

"Hello, sister."

I gasped and stopped breathing because of the overwhelming danger his voice has. His voice... reminded me of the voice I keep hearing in my dreams.

Suddenly, Akin charged at him and he has flown away, very far at us. I noticed how Akin returned the coat properly at me again before saying something I did not expect to hear from him.

"Go,"

I thought he will be the one to kill me? Why is he…

Rain suddenly pulled me to the other way, while they continued fighting with each other. Their movements are fast, making it all blurry in my sight. I couldn't follow anymore. My mind is getting haywired.

What are they?

Sister?

I glanced on our way and realized that we are now going to an unfamiliar route.

"Rain?" I asked in between our running.

He turned to me and I saw how his eyes reflected mine. He is also in fear but unlike me, his mind is working better and sounder this time.

"Shortcut," he stated and that's when I felt the urgentness of having a sound mind. I have to function properly or else we will be doomed!

We passed bushes and tall grasses for minutes. I thought I will now be relieved because I am now this near to our house but I immediately kneeled on the ground when I saw how the fire is eating up my home.

"No no no no," I continuously uttered at the sight.

Completely lost and futile, I almost passed out.

Rain forcingly held me up, slapping me hard on the face. The heat and pain from the impact of his palm crippled on me. Why...

I looked at him, shocked at that, but together with me he is also not believing what he is seeing. However, he is manning up to see to it that I won't be eaten by my emotions and fears. That we have no time to break down on the time we needed to move the most.

"I'm sorry..." he hugged me tightly and I felt his chest silently rocking a whole lot too. He wiped my tears and patted my head for a little while.

"Let's move and look for them in the area, alright? Heartstrong..."

I nodded.

We ran the distance to roam around the area. My skin is already burning up because of our distance from the flame but I won't stop easily. We looked anywhere the surroundings, hoping to see them.

Papa, Miro, Grandma. Where are you?

We searched and searched for long minutes but we fail to see even one.

My weird ability happened again. I can suddenly hear the noises of talking people and their footsteps from afar like it is so near me. I grabbed Rain by the hand when the footstep gets louder in my head, meaning they are getting nearer to my position.

I brought him into a hidden compartment under the large tree that Miro and I only knew, and after minutes of being in there, a group of people with hoods appeared in front of our house.

"Did you get the girl?" a lady who seemed to be their leader asked.

Someone advanced to her position to talk. "We didn't. Damien has-"

The man is still talking but the lady suddenly twisted his neck, detangling it from his body, as she kick his body with extreme force. The head and the body flew, it was burned together in the fire surrounding our house. She grabbed and kicked three more of his people to the fire.

Pretty savafe, she craned her neck as soon as she finished doing it.

"Worthless!" she exclaimed.

Her eyes roamed more on the area and I even stopped breathing so that they won't know we are just right here. Her nose move, smelling something. She is leisurely walking towards us until another person came.

He whispered in her ears. I was able to take a glimpse of her eyes. The color of her eyes is different from each other. One is red, the other is deep orange.

She then left the place hastily and like the man with red eyes, she is too fast that I couldn't even follow her when she started to run away. All of her people followed her.

What has happened? What are they? Who are they after? With all the things I just witnessed, I couldn't help but faint in Rain's arms.
