I know I should only be really nervous and in fear of my life because of the sudden change of environment I am seeing, but you cannot blame me to be in awe at the view I thought is too far to be existing.
It made me remember a scene in a movie where a woman with a pitchfork who had her wings removed by her first love is the protagonist. I can't believe there is a place like this.
Green lands which are healthier and greener than ours is laid in front of me. The giant and very lively varieties of big trees which seem to be here for a long while is everywhere and it displays a majestic vibe along with the sound of the waterfalls, that is a bit far but not too far because it just after the green lands we are now positioned. I can even glimpse the top of it and the amount of clean water it is spilling down.
Animals are freely living their best life like people here are not their predators. They are walking and flying anywhere they want. I've seen a lot of rare species of birds, insects, and such, so despite the fact that I am not sure of the trouble my visit and this woman might bring me, the nature seemed to shift my worries... a little.
A loud thump of something that fell off from the sky made the land shake drastically that it severely irked my system.
But the humourless and sonorous voice... jarred and frightened the whole of my soul.
"Who is with you?"
Am I dead? Because if not, why am I seeing this?
All detailed and very... endangering, a mischievous creature who was pulled out of someone's imaginative mind is infront of me.
I then know for sure that he is out of my league.
A burly and muscular frame of a half naked man who seemed to be in his 40s, is the owner of the voice. Black and silver shimmers were laid in a perfect mess on distinct parts of his chest, arms, torso, and neck. With a humongous pair of extremely dark wings as an accessory, legs covered by an absolute black pants which has the darkest glimmer... those ruthless and unforgiving eyes— he looks extremely full of boldness and rougeness. No weakness at all.
When he started to walk nearer us, my body automatically bended on Ryelia's hold. His eyes darted to me and I recognized a darker shade of my emerald green eyes.
"She looks wimpy to me" he announced.
"Seems so too in my eyes, but look, " Ryelia forced to remove my hand on my chest, pulling the chest part of my dress a lot lower that it revealed the half of my right boob.
The two-dot, looking like a bite birthmark resurfaced.
"She is the lost one,"
Lost? I automatically crossed my arms on my chest as soon as Ryelia let go of my hands. I gripped on my shoulder tight.
His eyes narrowed and I caught how his pupils zoomed more into my eyes. I panicked when his orbs shaded deeper and warnful. No hint of delight.
He throw me a one last glance before he diverted to Ryleia.
"Make her come to us on the next 268 days or else a war will take turn," that's what he last mandated before he flew high to the sky.
As if a bad dream, I started heaving hard though he is not present anymore.
"War, war war." she sang nonchalantly. " A war for you. Don't you think you're too much for a responsibility?"
"I... am not who you are looking for, "
"Of course, anyone from the mortal world would say that, " she smeared. "A frail heart could never survive here... but since you are already acknowledged, maybe you can. Or maybe you can be the next disappointment of our kind,"
My eyes sneakily watered without my consent. Why is she talking like that to me? And why do those words affect me even if I knew they are not for me?
She stopped talking when she bowed down to peek through me. Her lips twisted and I knew what is that for. She finds me ridiculous. Never was there a pity on those shade of red orbs.
She continued paving until...
A ruined and partially demolished four-story ancient castle is seen a distance beside the waterfalls. It looks rugged, seemingly hitted by a powerful catastrophe, but the lights on the patios and on some of its rooms made me aware someone is inside it. The way it has intricate designs and complicated tweaks combined from distinct and celebrated classic arts had me on a wholesome amazement.
Ryelia, placed me in front of it before ditching me to run I don't know where. I roamed my eyes on the area and saw curious eyes watching me. At the exact time I felt uneasy with the fact that I am the only one being watched and preyed, Akin has arrived beside me.
I eyed him a bit before bravely taking steps inside the ruined castle, with him silent behind me.
I am walking a bit slow because I came to pause on the things that fazed me inside the castle like the classic huge chandeliers above so it must be bothersome for him to wait with my pacing. Curious, I shifted my eyes on him only to see him watching me. He caught me glimpsing at him while he is intensely dark and brooding for some matter.
Intricate art...
A cemented long stairs led us to the second floor and I was again dazed when different kinds of paintings like abstract, portrait, and landscape paintings were served to me. Everything is exceptional but I came to fully stop on the smallest piece of painting in the middle of the way…
It looks like… me.
From the hair, nose, eyes…lips- I felt bluffed looking at a certain painting that looks exactly like me when I was on my 14 years old simple birthday celebration. I am smiling shyly there and some strands of my hair are kind of covering my face but the artist has caught how my lips curved profusely and how my cheeks turned rosy.
That was when the man meters away from me right now was intensely teased at me. It was the first time he attended my birthday and people close to him and I teased him for wearing something "too formal" for a simple birthday celebration.
I felt the same heat travel on my cheeks when I noticed a little handwriting on the lower right of the painting. I emptied my throat when I realized how this shows he is really…into me.
But isn't he that pretty woman's lover?
I straightened my mind and corrupted my thoughts. Why am I raking an unfamiliar and significantly tricky castle like a kid? I should just focus on finding my family.
Walking to the third floor, I got overwhelmed to meet a lot of people. Some immediately set their fangs out looking at my neck and everything they found delicate to sip on. Akin stride swiftly in front of me. I caught him throwing a warning look inside before fully facing me. He scanned me whole and I got a feeling that he does not approve of my dress in this situation. I adjusted my dress up and his eyes moved on my exposed legs.
I saw him frown to himself when he did a side glance.
He then removed himself in front of me and that is just when I noticed the red-eyed man comfortably sitting and smirking on a royal chair. He gave me a mocking smile when our eyes met and although still in fear, I am braver this time to look back at him.
I need my family.
He suddenly laughed aloud, and the only noise circulated the room. I heard Akin mutter a profanity. As soon as his laugh ended, he gestured Akin something.
"Let's go out," Akin declared.
Turning our back, the red-eyed man's creepy voice halted my steps. "Man, I told you to get her to me"
With a poker face, Akin held me by the wrist to pull me out of there, disregarding him fully.
His laughing continued like a crazy frenzy and it was heard even when we are out of his sight.
We walked down and he directed me to the third to the last room on the second floor.
"Your family is here."
Hesitant, I glanced back to confirm again but I disregarded it when I caught Ryelia coming towards us. I didn't wait a second to twist the knob and saw Miro, Papa, and Grandmother soundly sleeping on their separate cozy beds.
The room is four times bigger than my regular bedroom at home. And although some damaged part of the walls is seen, the red and gold curtains and decorations didn't leave it a room to stand out. Another classic chandelier is hanging above and I can see a door leading to an open balcony.
They are still in the same clothes they are wearing before Rain and I attended the prom. I firstly sat on grandmother's bed and checked if she is really fine. Her peaceful look in the bed made me feel reassurance. I headed to Miro and brushed him softly on the cheeks, fixing his disheveled hair a bit. His weird text suddenly pops into my mind so I tried to look for his phone but found none.
When I am about to turn to Papa, he is already awake and is busy watching me.
"Pa," I softly mumbled and he gave me his usual comforting smile I have hoped to see after everything.
"Hey pretty," he hoarsely greeted.
