Chapter 07

"What are you doing?" Salvador asked as he pushed open her door.

"Homework" She answered simply.

"I got you this," He said and stretched his hand. It was a bar of chocolate. Her face was full of excitement as she made to take it but he quickly withdrew his hand.

"Catch me if you can" He laughed and ran out of the room. She jumped down from her chair and ran after him.

Elena's Pov

I pulled up at the parking lot of Redlands High School and got out.

"Hey!"

"Oh God," I was startled and turned to see Brenda leaning on a car next to mine. I rolled my eyes. "Do you really have to sneak up on me?"

"I saw you from a distance and I thought you need some help locating us" She smiled. "Here, let me help you with that"

I passed her the casserole containing the Kebobs and I took the fruit. I locked the car and followed her behind. Brenda was part of my girls' groups. We've been friends since we started high school.

"Hy girl" Carrie called out. She was a cheerleader and one of our friends. She is blonde and very good-looking. She fit the cheerleading thing perfectly.

"Morning guys" I waved as I carefully placed the item I brought on the grass. "Sorry, I'm late"

"No need to apologize," Charlie who was Brenda's boyfriend said. "You are just in time".

"Hi Tara" I greeted the only redhead in the group. She only nodded and kept pressing her phone. I wasn't expecting any answer though, she wasn't the one with words and hardly talk.

I looked around the area and there were a lot of students moving about the lawn with others in a group like ours. After the prom, I never thought a lot would show up but then I was wrong, it was supposed to be a goodbye party or whatever.

"Where is Izzie?" I asked around.

"Right here" I turned and I saw her holding hands with Andrew. I arched an eyebrow questionably at her but she giggled. I didn't understand what she was doing wearing Andrew's shirt. It was so big for her but she tied it just below her navel.

"Good morning guys" Andrew greeted. "Morning Elena" I nodded. He whispered something into Isabella's ear and left.

She came and sat close to me. "So what's up guys?"

"Don't pretend" I said. "What was that about?"

"Yes Bella" Carrie chirped in. "What's with you and Andrew, spill"

"Andrew and I did it last night at his house!" Isabella squealed.

We were all shocked and no one said a thing.

"What?" She glared at us.

"I... I'm sorry but you what?" I asked after getting back from my initial shock. "I thought we said not now, maybe in college or with the right person" I didn't get it. I never thought her relationship with Andrew was serious and I felt hurt. She betrayed me.

"Andrew was my right person and I couldn't have hoped for more" She reminisce about the past and just laughed. She was clearly excited and didn't even notice my emotions.

"Tell us how it happened," Brenda said to Isabella. "Charlie and I are waiting for the right time" Brenda sends flirtatiously looks at him.

"Yes, tell us" Tara dropped her phone and looked interested too. They were all looking at Isabella expectantly. She was like a celebrity to them.

"I just don't get it" I shook my head. "You brought the suggestion for us to wait. You said to wait for the right person" I tried to force my point.

"And the suggestion helped you, Elena" She grinned at me. " Or you would have done it with Wallace and you've had like five boyfriends after him"

I blushed when she said that. She was right. I would have fallen for Wallace's charms and did it and our relationship lasted for three months.

"How do you know Andrew is the right guy?" I asked. "You've been dating him a little over six months now"

I was just worried and looking out for her. Virginity was a big deal to us and we've been having plans. I just felt it should not have been that.

"I just know... Now enough about me" Isabella's eyes tingled with excitement. "Tell us about your night with Finn"

"I...I..." I put my head down. I could feel my cheek turning red.

"Wait, Finn your brother?" Carrie asked.

"What did we miss?" Brenda asked.

"A lot" Isabella smirked. "Why don't you let Elena do the honors and tell us all" All eyes turned to me.

"Alright. Alright," I puffed. "We didn't do anything. We almost kissed twice but we were interrupted. There, you happy?"

We got back to talking, mostly about memories and sharing meals. Brenda, Charlie, and Tara were moving back to Ukraine. Carrie had no plan whatsoever. Isabella and I wanted to go to Oxford University for college. I haven't discussed that with Finn yet but I don't know if he would approve of that. Long-distance relationships would not be fun.

"Hey, Bella, got a minute?" Andrew called. Isabella's eyes sparked at the sight of him and I smiled. I was happy for her. If Andrew is her right guy then I got no issues. She was my best friend and I loved her.

My phone rang and I checked. It was my Dad.

"Excuse me guys" I mouthed. "I need to pick this" I pointed at the phone and excused myself from them. I went to a short distance and I picked up the call.

"Hy love" My Dad's voice sounded tired.

"Dad" I stated. I missed him.

"I am sorry I left. I got..."

"You don't have to explain. I understand" I signed. "I got your message and the food and we love it," I said, referring to the lunch he made.

"I'm glad you do. I will be back soon. I am sorry. I love you"

"Love you too," I told him and hung up. I put my phone back in my pocket and when I was about to head back to the group, I heard someone crying and my curiosity got the better of me so I went to investigate.

It was Isabella. She was on her knees and sobbing into her hands.

"Izzie, are you alright?" I asked worriedly as I hurried up to her. She saw it was me and ran into my arms.

"Hey, take it easy" I patted her back. "What is wrong" I pulled away gently to look into her eyes.

"Andrew.. he..he broke up with me" She was still sobbing.

I couldn't believe my ears. I knew Isabella is a lot of things including crazy and I didn't know what to believe. "Is this a prank Izzie? Because it is not funny".

"No," She said softly and shook her head.

"What happened?"

"It turns out that everything he did was all a facade to lure me into sleeping with him. He is moving back to Singapore tomorrow." I could see the pain in her eyes and she just couldn't stop the tears.

I felt my own tears too. "But why...I mean"

"Just yesterday Elena. Just at prom, he promised we would be going to college together. I thought we would be like high school sweethearts and even get married someday but...."

"God. I am so sorry honey" I hugged her and let her cry in my arms.

We both turned when we heard Andrew's voice. He was among some guys and they were laughing about something. I was so pissed off that I ran up to them.

"Elena don't" Isabella ran after me but I wouldn't be budged. He messed with the wrong people.

"How dare you?" I slapped him hard.

"Hey Elena, what was that for," He asked when he recovered from the shock. His hand was still on his cheek. When he saw Isabella, he smiled smugly.

"Bella grow up. Our night was just like any other night. Stop being clingy" He sneered at her.

"How could you do that? You knew she was not ready! You used her Andrew, you did!" I yelled at him.

"What is the big deal then?" Sean, Andrew's friend chirped in. "It was not like he forced her. He told us how you sounded under the sheet and you enjoyed it as much as he did".

I tensed and I heard Isabella take in a deep breath behind me.

"Don't you dare get into this" I warned Sean. "How could you Andrew?" I turned to him.

"It is not worth it Elena" Isabella held my hand. "Let go"

"This is for Isabella," I said to Andrew before I punched him real hard on his groin with my kneecap. I saw him fall to his knees and I felt triumph. He deserved worst.

"What's happening here" I turned quickly to Finn's calm voice. He was standing there with an open-neck black shirt tucked into jean trousers. He was breathtaking and he looked dangerous. He was looking past me to Andrew. Sean quickly held onto Andrew and limping, they left us.

"Please don't tell me you saw that" I cringed at the thought of him seeing what I did to Andrew.

"Finn" Isabella ran and went into his arms, sobbing.

"What happened?" He asked as he held her tight. His face was full of worries and I could see his love for her. She was his only sibling and as annoying as she could be, he loved her so much.

"I am fine" She tried to smile. "I will see you guys later"

"No. I am taking you home" Finn said in an authoritative voice. She nodded and started walking towards the parking lot.

"I wanted to surprise you and take you out on a date. I'm sorry. I have to take her home. She doesn't look so well" He apologized.

"Of course. No problem. I will be heading home too" I smiled at him.

"You want me to drop you off?"

"No... I came in my truck" I told him. "You can come to check me at home later, we can just watch a movie or something" I suggested.

"I will" He grinned and it showed his perfectly white teeth. "Later," He said and walked off.

I went to my truck without going back to the group. I was worried about Isabella. She looked shaken and I knew Andrew's action must have hurt her so much.

What was supposed to be a beautiful day turned out to be the opposite. I sighed as I drove back home.
