The quiet before the storm

I woke up, washed my teeth, changed.my clothes, and went downstairs to find mom, dad and my younger siblings sitting down on the table eating breakfast together with a smile on their faces, i wouldn't have known that these smiles will become a river of tears later on, and if some one told me what was going to happen to me,I would've said that he or she is crazy, I kissed mom and dad goodbye and headed to my college, on my way there I met Mark,he is my childhood friend, he reminded me that we had a homework so I borrowed his notes and copied them as usual, the lesson was as usual, boring but educational,after the lesson Mark offered to accompany me home but I declined politely and told him that my fiance is picking me up in a few minutes, he left and I kept on waiting and waiting and waiting, but he never came, I got a text from him saying that he had a meeting to attend to and he won't make it, but it was his birthday and I prepared a gift for him,at least I will go and give it to him to surprise him, I went to his apartment building after mailing and making sure that he was back from work, i found the door slightly opened so I entered and saw clothes scattered everywhere, I couldn't believe that he would do anything especially betraying me that is what I fully believed from the depth of my heart,that was until I heared a moaning voice, I followed the source filled with fear and anxiety, I was in front of our closed bedroom door hearing the moaning clearly, I couldn't take it any more I had to open that door to find the truth, to know what will happen to us,I hesitated and turned around to leave because I'm scared of facing the cruel reality, but my hand betrayed me as if it moved on its own and opened the door,I started crying and my heart was teared apart by the scene that was like a nightmare to me, a nightmare that I couldn't believe, I've been with Sam for three years now I never expected that he would cheat on me and with who?, a cheap slut that works as his secretary, I really thought that he was my prince charming with the shining armor that would take me on his white horse to see a different world filled with love and hope, but instead I ended up being betrayed and decieved.

I was just standing there and couldn't move at all Sam noticed me but didn't care to explain or apologize like what they do in movies and novels, instead he gave me a smirk while having sex with her and said to me:"Are you enjoying the show?"

I told him "Why..... Why did you do that to me?"

He said:"Because you are worthless to me now"

I didn't understand what he was saying he said

:"you will find out when you go home"

A shiver went down through my spine I didn't wait any longer because my feet started running fast without hesitation toward our home, my lovely home that had all the warm heart and the sweet smiles just this morning, when I reached my home I found it empty, nothing was in there, "What the hell happened here" I shouted,my mom ran toward me while crying and shivering then she hugged me her eyes were swollen from crying, my siblings came after mom I asked them"What is going on here can some one tell me" they were all silent but Sophia gave me a letter, I started reading it slowly

Dear my lovely family

My company went bankrupt and the loan sharks threatened me to repay them but I couldn't because I simply don't have enough money, the bank probably took all the thing in the house too, by the time you read this I'll be hiding overseas,you should hide too or they might sell you in the black auction or something

I burst out crying of what I read, I can't believe that my father was that kind of asshole,that was what my jerk of a fiance meant,I couldn't believe that I would end up like that at all, I kept on looking through the letter again and again, hoping that it was a lie but it wasn't, we all kept on crying until we fell asleep on the floor that day, the next day one of the employees of the bank kicked us out of the house and threatened us to not come back there again because it's not our property any longer,I as the oldest of my siblings had to take responsibility, I had a little bit of money that I have saved up to buy a new computer, but I guess the computer can wait, I asked for apartments around the neighborhood but I didn't find any that I could rent with the money I had, in the end I gathered them at the park and told them to wait there for me to ask around for other apartments, they agreed and I headed to search for places,on my way I saw an old woman that fell to the ground and all her groceries were all around her on the ground, I rushed toward her and helped her, she thanked me and asked why was I in such a terrible state, I told her that I was looking for an apartment for me and my siblings and that I didn't have any luck with the amount of money I had, she smiled at me then told me:"I have an apartment that I can rent for you with the price you're asking for"

"really" I said

She said:"yes of course."

I cheered up then called my mom and told her to come to where I was, then we all headed to our new home,when she opened the door, we saw the apartment, it seemed old with fractions on the walls and a dusty broken pile of furniture, the woman left us to settle In but we all felt disgusted at how it was, you can't blame me though, I was living in luxury a day ago, and born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I said:"well at least we have a roof to sleep under, and some money to buy food" of course I didn't want that but what other choice do I have, I had to keep it all in because my mom and siblings were sad enough, I told them that I will head out to buy some groceries, and I did but on my way back a car almost pumped into me, hardly avoided it but my grocery fell of my hands,the car stopped and the driver door was opened, he came to apologize for what he has done, I assured him that it's okay and that I won't sue him or anything, he smiled and thanked me then left, I grabbed all the things that were still edible, i came back home and cooked a warm meal that we all ate together I wished that it would bring the smile to their little faces again but it didn't so I spoke up and told them, :"don't worry I will work and provide us enough money to live on and for you to continue studying so study hard to get a good job in the future do you understand, they all nodded in agreement and smiled.
